water collects on bottom of freezer. after 6-8 weeks, it fills the bottom (frozen) but then water starts appearing on floor in front of freezer. water appears to be coming from rear of compartment, as the ice is built up against back wall at bottom (visible only after removing food.
for "water on kitchen floor or on bottom of freezer," troubleshooting section of manual states "drain in bottom of the freezer clogged."
but there is nothing in the manual about the drain, i.e., where it is or how to clean it.
Can you tell me where this drain is?

the problem is that the drain pan was clogged with ice the pan is located behind a plastic cover (one screw in center that is located behind the second shelf from the bottom. you will see that the drain pan full of ice. i left he door open for 20 minutess, then removed the ice. at ge's sugggestion, i used a turkey baster to shot hot water with baking soda down the drain hole. problem solved. one week later, however, freezer is not cold enough (15-20 degrees). fridge side is also not very cold. i don't think these problems are related, and I fear that i need new fridge (current one is 10 years old. i don't want to pay repairman for a new condensor or fan.
Water drips/runs down the rear of the freezer and accumulates on the floor of the freezer as a 'glacier'. I have to remove it about once a week. I thought it was a problem with the icemaker so I disconnected the water line to the refrigerator, but it hasn't changed the problem at all. I'm still trying to figure out where all that water is coming from, since the water line has been disconnected for almost 3 months and I still have to remove a 1/2" to 3/4" thick slab of ice from the bottom of the freezer every week.
