You typically get rejected to play a CD or DVD when the read surface of the CD has too many scratches, It is very dirty or when there are finger prints on it. Many times you can fic this problem by gently bending the CD to correct alignment problem. You also have to gently clean the surface of the CD with a damp clothe or a tissue paper and if you add Disc cleaning chemical it can do extra good work. You also should not ignore the lens of the CD/DVD player.do not touch it with your hand finger or finger nails etc. Just blow some air on it and gently clean it with a dry tissue paper. If all this fails and your other CD/DVDs are working on the same players that you can be sure that your CD might have been damaged beyond repair.

Good Luck!

I HAVE AN OLD 74 MIN COMPACT DISC RECORDABLE FOR CONSUMER CD-R AND I CANNOT WATCH IT FROM ANY OF MY DVD PLATYERS OR COMPUTER OR LAPTOP WHERE CAN I WATCH

That would depends entirely on the file format employed in its creation. If you can display the files on a PC try to determine what software will open it/them up and go Googling for whatever it needs.

I cannot find TDK XA80 CD-R Audio - Recordable Compact Discs

All you guys looking for AUDIO burner CDs' should try the MEMOREX CD-R MUSIC CDs. These are a new product, released to REPLACE the TDK XA80 AUDIO CDs.

Stocks are a bit low right now - but only because this is a new product - and people like me are buying up big.

'Tanya' at JB Hi Fi in Erina Fair on the NSW Central Coast, has promised me that she will be ordering plenty of these discs because she is aware of our dilema. Apparently Head Office of JB HiFi has also advised their numerous stores of this MEMOREX product and they should all be having them in stock shortly.

Product description:
Red cardboard box with 10 blank CDs in slim jewel cases. Marked "Memorex Music CD-R" 700MB (80min) Mine cost me $8.95c for this pack of ten.

These work fine on my stand alone, Hi-Fi LG dual tray burner and also on a mates' Pioneer CD burner. Good luck and thank God for Memorex!

How do you burn a cd on the travelmate 290 ?

Windows XP CD Copy Windows XP has CD-Recordable (CD-R) disc burning support for most CD writers.
8b118c9.gif First set your CD-recording options:
  • Open "My Computer"
  • Right-click your CD-R drive and select "Properties". See figure BK-1.
  • Select the "Recording" tab (if this tab isn't available, your device doesn't support CD burning).
  • Check the box to "Enable CD recording on this drive".
  • Select the drive to hold the temporary files (before the system burns a CD-R disc, the system writes the files to be recorded to an intermediary area - this area must have enough free space to hold an entire CD's content).
  • Select the CD recording speed (Fastest, 4X, 2X, and 1X).
  • Select whether to eject the media after recording.
  • Click OK.

Perform the following steps to record to a CD-R:
  • Insert a blank CD-R disc into your CD burner.
  • Copy or drag the files or folders to be recorded to the CD-R drive, or right-click on the files or folders and select Send To, Writable CD.
7f66e80.jpg
  • After you have copied all the files, select the CD-R drive from "My Computer" and you'll see the waiting files as "Files to add to the CD."
  • Right-click the CD-R drive, and select Write to CD.
  • Enter a name for the CD-R disc, and click Next.
  • The files will be written to the CD-R disc.
  • After the system writes all the files, it will eject the CD-R disc (if you chose that option above).
  • Click Finish.
