Question about JVC Digital Cameras

1 Answer

I have a jvc everio gz-mg157u hdd 30g camcorder/camera. My promlem is that the videos that are stored in the camera I can not find. When I go into my videos, it says that there are no videos stored but there is some video space on the hard drive that is used up. Also, when I press the record button, it records for about one second if even, and then it goes right back to the pause icon and records nothing. Can you help me out? This is a very expensive camera and I really need it to work right. THANK YOU!!

I have not transferred any videos out of the camera yet. I can not find them in the area that they are supposed to be stored in. It keeps telling me that there are no videos stored here, but then again there is some hdd space that has been used. But just a couple minutes after I posted my last post, the camera doesnt even work now. Once I turn on the camcorder, none of the buttons work anymore. Can this also be a poor battery malfunction, b/c it is still the regular battery that came w/ it when I bought it. I hope the unit is not breaking down on me. Please get back to me with your best solutions. THANK YOU!

Okay. Can I just take it into any electronics place? Because I bought the camera back in Georgia, and now I live in Wisconsin.

OK. I will give both those solutions a try. THANK YOU! One last question though. Would I lose all my data in the camcorder after the repair work?

How are you transferring your videos out of the camera?

When your transferring them are you deleting them off the camcorder?

You should take it in to have someone look at it. It sounds likes its more than just the hard drive.

I have a JVC GZ-HD300 Hard disc video camera and when using Everio Mediabrowser which comes with the camera download to convert my videos the conversion leaves the finished video blurred

Hi.

If the original footage was sharp, that means that you are probably using wrong compression parameter or format on Everio, while doing conversion.

If the source movie was blurred instead, try using the Advanced Image Stabilisation option, usually available in new JVC HD camcorder menu.

Everio has different quality settings. Each time you increase compression you lower quality.

Also ensure that the camera was not in a low definition setting.

Regards.

Ginko.

I have a JVC Everio GZ-MG21EK Camcorder can anyone tell me the maximum sd card that you can use with this camcorder

There is no limit beyond the limits of the SD cards themselves. The JVC Everio GZ-MG21EK camera DOES NOT support SDHC cards, so you are restricted to the smaller capacities of the non-SDHC SD cards. I am successfully using a 2GB SD card in this model.

Try USB transfer to PC. If all else fails, take the thing apart for the hard drive, and take it somewhere so they can pull the files off fo you.
