Memory Upgrade My laptop crashed but I lost the recovery disks. So instead it was re-installed as follows: BIOS for 2550 CDT instead of 2550S Windows ME instead of original Windows 98 However, the on-board memory upgrade stopped working. Is this a BIOS version problem?

Not workin want reset help

Please post your laptop model and brand name.
Most laptops are having a special function to reset it to "Factory Settings". This is mostly available in BIOS. For information about how to access BIOS in your laptop and get it reset, please confirm your brand and model.
(Model name is printed somewhere on the screen panel. If not found, it will be on the sticker under your laptop.)

I have an HP dv6700 that won't boot windows. It's running vista 32 bit with Phoenix bios on there. I have tried a recovery disk but there seem to be no startup errors nor did it find memory nor hard drive...

BIOS diags do not test RAM's Windows functionality. Download Microsoft's Memory diagnostic too and burn to a cd. then test your memory.
To run Windows Memory Diagnostic, you must reboot your computer with the disk or CD-ROM on which you installed Windows Memory Diagnostic in the drive. After the reboot, Windows Memory Diagnostic will load and its interface will appear. After loading, the first test pass will begin, using the default standard test suite, and continue until complete, unless Windows Memory Diagnostic is either paused or exited. Once the first test pass is complete, Windows Memory Diagnostic will begin a second test pass using the same settings as before. Windows Memory Diagnostic will continue to run test passes until you exit.

When my acer aspire 9300 laptop is turned on it says password i dont no what it is can u help

Well, I am providing you four tips which you can consider to recover Windows administrator password if your forgot or lost it:

TIP 1 - Use password reset disk

Windows-based system was designed to be able to create windows password reset disk without any other third party tools. So you can make use of a password reset disk to reset your Windows password in case you lose or forget your Windows password.

TIP 2 - Restore the operating system

Windows password recovery can be performed by restoring the operating system. Since restoration leads to data deletion, the solution can only work if you have a clean and updated backup of your hard drive data stored somewhere else.

TIP 3 - Use Windows Boot disk

The boot CD for Windows can be used to reset the administrator password. This disk enables you to repair Windows OS, thereby, setting your administrator password as blank.

TIP 4 - Use password recovery software

This is considered as the best windows password recovery solution, however, is to download a third party software. These tools enable you to reset Windows administrator password without posing any threat to your hard drive data. Among so many password recovery software, windows Password Recovery 6.0 is an easy-to-employ application which can be used to reset lost or forgotten password of any Windows system. Now execute the following steps to recover your lost windows password if you haven't prepared anything.

Step1: Login to a computer that can link to Internet. Download Windows Password Recovery from

http://www.recoverlostpassword.com/products/windowspasswordrecoery.html and install it on that PC.

Note that: there is an .ISO file. Burn the .ISO file to a CD/DVD or a USB flash drive

Step2: Get out the newly created CD/USB and insert it to the locked computer.

Step3: re-booted the locked computer (it's necessary for you to change your computer's Setup to make it boot from CD drive or USB drive) and then followed the process of instructions. Just a few steps, the old passwords were removed.

Step4: logon PC without password and setting the new password

You should get in touch with them as they must provide a disc or recovery parition which was bought when they bought that laptop.

If you have a Windows XP disk then you can normally install by going into BIOS and setting CD as first boot device. If it gives hard drive not found then you will need to install the SATA driver from the Toshiba website first.

Problem in the HP Palvalion laptop dv6607nr model

Try using a Windows installation disk instead of your recovery disk. If the Windows disk will boot and begin the installation process then you most likely have a faulty recovery disk. If it gives you an error there may be a malconfiguration in the bios.

Good Luck
