Hi, Please do one thing, make sure that all the wires are properly plugged into the mother-board. As the light on the mother-board is on remove the ram(memory) from the board. If you have more than one ram(memory stick) installed then try changing their slots first and then if it doesn't work, remove them one by one and and change their slots. It should take care of the issue. Otherwise try changing with a new ram, if it also doesn't wok then you have to check with the local technician as the problem is with the mother-board. Hope it Helps. Regards. Anand Sachan

Hello nvukeya

You have described the computer very well in details.

as for the problem what i understand is that the only light coming on at the front of the case is the power light.

From past experience this problem is caused by one of two things.

1- faulty power supply. even though the power light comes on the power supply can be faulty

2- faulty motherboard.

While I am sure it is one the above items still you can go through the process of elimination.

To eliminate other components you can remove the TV card an if you have a floppy drive make sure to disconnect that too. then the computer. if you have more than one stick of RAM you can try them one at a time.

hope this has put you in the right direction.

No video mouse or keyboard but all power and leds are working

there are several problems to this case.

1. check the 24 pin power supply and be sure to plugin the 4 pin power supply just beside the cpu.

2.ram not placed correctly

3.Power supply inefficient.

4.BAD BIOS SETTINGS Try resetting bios i.e.., CLEAR CMOS or remove onboard battery, wait for a while and then place it again.

5.RAM is damaged

6. Highly overclocked cpu - resetting bios works

Check all the above to see whether your computer comes online.

Monitor is not on

Im gonna take it that "yup i'm hear the any beep" means you do hear a beep.

So first If it has an onboard vga card. remove the second vga and hook the monitor up to the onboard and try to boot.

Second try the Power Supply, make sure whatever power supply you use has enough to handle all the equipment in the unit.

If those two don't solve the problem, then you have a bad motherboard.

Computer will not startup

H there.
The beep codes you describe sound like memory issues or failure, take the system memory out, clean the contacts and the slots with a clean, soft, dry paintbrush. Re-seat the memory firmly and try boot the PC again.
Please post back with the results

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

ASUS MOTHERBOARD P5B-MX WIFI WON'T DISPLAY

Are you sure the onboard video is working? Try an external card and see if this works. All the beeps when you remove the memory is good because you know the processor is working. Are you sure you have the right memory? Some machines won't boot or anything when you have the wrong memory.

Model pasaris motherboard D865GBF system restart

remove all components except the main hard drive and all cards.

If it has onboard display and you have a graphics card remove the graphics card and use the onboard.

remove all RAM except one.

Check if it boots now, if not, swop the RAM around and try again. If you dont have spare RAM get some and borrow it.
also reset the bios to defaults as well, you may have a wrong setting for whatever reason.
If you have it booting up now, add one component at a time untill the problem returns.

If it doesnt you just had something loose.

Check also to make sure your power supply can supply enough power.

If this doesnt solve the problem let me know WHEN in reboots... while loading the operating system ? before ?
