When we try to print, it comes up as fax. How do we get the printer to simply PRINT!!!

Try this,
Select Print from the file menu, not the shortcut
When the printer dialog box comes up, make sure that it says Canon Pixma 800 series or words to that effect in the window and NOT FAX.
Click OK to print.

I had the same problem. You have to clean the ink tube and make sure it's connected properly. They tend to vibrate loose after extended use. Hope this helps. Charlene

SOURCE: HP6500 won't print Quickbooks

I had the same problem with this printer Office jet6500 Wireless. HP advised me to install a new print driver Deskjet990c and use it as default printer for Quickbooks. you need to ID the port of the HP6500 and use the same port for the 990c (nb i am using it with usb on my PC)

How to clear the FAX memory in a Canon MX 410


I had the same problem, I own a Pixma MX410, first there is no need to turn off or unplug anything, simply go to your fax button then use the > < arrows to get to advanced fax from the menu button, then go to print reports; then smply print out the reports and then presto all of these reports come printing out and the blue Fax Memory light vanishes. What happened is that at some earlier point someone attempted to fax and it did not go through so it is store in the memory just waiting to be printed out. hope this helps you

Many times my printer shows communicaion error


The first thing I suggest you try is simply opening Print & Fax, selecting and pressing the minus button under the printer list. This will remove the print queue but not the driver so you will just need to add the networked printer again. With Print & Fax still open click the plus button to add. With the Default view selected the Scanner will appear first. And if you wait a few more seconds the Printer will also be displayed. Select this entry, which will be shown as canonijnetwork in the Kind column. The Print Using menu should change to Canon series and when it does click Add to complete. Now try printing with this new queue. If this doesn't work then reply and we'll try something else.Hope It's resolve all Your Printer Problem,

Not able to print


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Printer will not print. Removed both print cartrages, replaced black only due to cost/need. Printer will still not print (sheet comes thru blank)


Make sure both color and black cartridges are installed in the printer. The printer requires all cartridges to have ink in them to continue printing.

My printer does not respond when I try to print


  1. Check all your connections first.
  2. Open up printers and faxes and see if the printer is labeled 'ready'.
  3. Look to see if you have pending documents by double clicking on the printer icon.
  4. If the printer has simply started to hang then try rebooting the computer and resending the print jobs.

Printer has full ink cartrage. When I print something the printer runs and works but the page come out blank


if you have a printer fax machine the problem might simply be inserting the paper in the correct slot. Unfortunately, the directions for some printer are really lacking .... i would try putting the paper in what might seem to be the fax slot. Another possibility is that the ink cartridges are not opened... the silver foil need to be removed before loading... Some printer have a print test button that sets up the printer to work properly I would try that as well. Hope this is helpful

Lanier MPC 3000 copier won't print faxes


Try opening up your web browser and type in the ip address of your lanier.
You should to access the facsimile function located on the left side. Once youre in the facsimile function, you should see a thumbnail view of the faxes stored in your lanier. Simply click on the faxes and delete them.

Sounds like maybe you do not have the Lexmark as your default printer.

Try choosing Print from the File Menu. Then you should see a list of printers and select the Lexmark.

If that doesn't work, try printing from another application like WordPad to make sure the printer can print at all.

If you still can't print, make sure the printer is online. Click on  Printers and Faxes in the Start Menu or the Control Panel. Then double click on the Lexmark printer icon. Make sure it doesn't say "Use Printer Offline" or "Paused" or anything like that in the title of the window that comes up. If it does use the Printer menu to change it.
