Hi, Please check in the BIOS if the battery is working fine or not. How to go into the BIOS mode? Restart your system and keep pressing the F2 function key till the time you see the BIOS mode. Under the system information you will also see battery information and battery health, check the status their of the battery and also for the adaptor. If under the battery information it says that the ' Battery is at the end of it's life', then you need to purchase a new battery or, If it says 'plugged in not charging', restart your system and then remove the battery once and remove the power-adaptor also. When there is no power in the laptop, press the power button for about 15-20 seconds. Then plug the adaptor and the battery and power-up your laptop.
If the problem remains the same try changing the battery and if it doesn't work also then the problem is with the mother-board.
Please let me know the error you see under the battery information menu.
Hope it helps. Thanks and Regards Anand Sachan

Why is it not charging?

1 Battery no longer holds a charge
2 Charger is faulty
33 Charger circuit does not function

This is assuming the mains socket works ok

Try a different charger, if that does not do the trick you know it is either batteries or charging circuit. Then change batteries, if that does not work you know it is a charging circuit fault

Laptop won't charge. Replaced battery and charger and still does not work.

Please check the connector / port where u plug-in the charger. Does it happen with all other compatible chargers or only with the one you have. Also try charging some other compatible laptop with the same charger. If that works, it means there is some problem with the port. Its not making the connections well.

Digi power tc-u100 wont charge

Are the batteries any good? That would be my next guess if I bought the new supply unit and I cannot get a charge going on the batteries. make sure that voltages match as well as the proper charger for the laptop is used they are usually exact and will not work at any different voltage as required in the manual people do by third party charging units and they never work on some laptops. It is a factory replace only item. For whatever reason I do not know they are cheaper but often do not work with the original batteries. So if you match correctly you should be getting a charge going for the batteries. So if you know that the batteries are good before buying the unit itself. You may want to return that unit and get the one your laptop calls for. If they are the proper ones both charger and batteries. Then your software program for battery charging may be faulty. You may need to re-install the original drivers again for the battery portion......Just a suggestion! John

Just bought new qosmio , and simply wont turn on. Is there any trick or just need to use waranty. Is problem in adapter maybee? Regards, Kristian kraljic

If it's still under warranty, you are lucky, but you can still try if it's a small faulty. First disconnect the charger and Switch On with the battery installed. It it doesn't work, remove the battery and try power on with the Charger connected. Still nothing, then check whether it is charging or not (battery installed and charger connected), you'll see a light if it's charging. If nothing seems working, then you last option is the Warranty.
(do not open the case or any cover, it may void the warranty).

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Problems with new laptop battery for my Acer 6920G.

You can't force the battery with a higher charge to work without damaging the computer. If the battery is a direct replacement it should work. If your original charger is not capable of charging the battery you can consider a charger replacement but I suspect the original charger you where using was bad to begin with if that is the case. You can try locating a replacement charger but you need to make sure it is rated for computer so you don't damage the power system.

Will not charge battery

I am giving you a very easy trick, it often happens, but remember I am considering that your battery, charger and laptop works properly.
Switch on your laptop on with the adapter. Make sure that the battery is plugged in. While its switched on remove the battery carefully and then wait for 30 seconds and insert it back into its place and then restart your laptop.
Hopefully your laptops battery would be charging again.
Please feel free to ask me any further.

New laptop charger is not allowing laptop's batther to charge

if your laptop will run off ac power and it will not work then you need a new battery if the charger is not working make sure the output voltage on the charger is 12volts and 2amps if it is not then the charger is to weak to charge the battery.

I have a dell computer that no longer will charge the battery. How do I determine if the problem is a bad battery or faulty charging system?

You can eliminate the possibility of a faulty charging system by testing the output of your charger that connects with the laptop. You can do this by attaching one end of a bulb (rating approximates the voltage output of the charger) to one end of the charger (+ or -) and the other to the opposite end. Using a thin wire will do the trick. If it lights, then your charger is working. If it doesn't, your battery could be the likely problem.
