Question about Pioneer SX-255R Receiver

1 Answer

My Pioneer SX255R suffers amnesia every time there is an interruption to the electricity supply and forgets all the pre-set radio stations. I have been told that a lithium battery needs replacing and have been quoted an exorbitant amount, so I thought I might do it myself. Trouble is, looking at the innards, I can't see anything that looks remotely like a battery. Can you offer any assistance? Many thanks,

I need to set the clock on a CD/cassette radio in a 1999 Ford E 450...also how do I set preset stations too?

Station Pre Set:
You can save 4 pre sets on this radio (1-4) tune the radio to the station you want to save then PUSH and HOLD one of the pre set butons until the sound returns, the station is saved to that pre set. Repeat for the 3 presets.

Clock:
Hour: Push and hold the CLK button and at the same time push the SEEK button to adjust. < decrease hours > increase hours.
Minute: Push and hold the CLK button and at the same time push the TUNE button the adjust. < decrease minutes > increase minutes.

Can't set the radio stations

When you find a frequency that you
want to store in memory, press one of pre-
set tuning buttons 1through 6 and hold until the
preset number stops flashing.
The number you have pressed will flash in the
preset number indicator and then remain lit.
The selected radio station frequency has been
stored in memory.
The next time you press the same preset tun-
ing button the radio station frequency is re-
called from memory.

There is a yellow wire that needs to be connected to a constant +12 volt supply. This wire retains all of the pre-sets, settings, etc.

It sounds like it is not.

Check the connections with a volt meter with the vehicle off to verify it has constant +12 volts.

Best of Luck.
