make sure that you charge it for twelve hours consistantly....once it is charge after you can hold down on the power button and the light comes on- use a paper clip and reset the player it should now work....
I had to work with mine for three days to get this working- biggest thing is the charge solid red light and the reset button (also making sure you have music already on it of course-)
Hello, I just fixed a friend of mine's mp-c7085. Same situation. Kid just got it for christmas, dropped it and it stopped working. I took it apart and found that the on switch broke it's soider connection to the board. I carefully resoidered the switch and it works. You can tell for sure if you take it apart and squeeze the on switch to the board while you try turning it on.
I tried to get a hold of them too. They apparently dont do warranties on stuff like this and from what they told me they don't fix them either. Mine does the same exact thing and I was surprised to find out this morning that I'm not the only one. In order to get it to work (and this is BS) you have to plug the USB connector into the computer and let it light up for a few seconds. Then unplug the cord and hold in the power button as hard as you can until it starts. You have to do this everytime but once you get it started it works just like before until it shuts off. Also, make sure that you set the power saver so that it doesn't stay on all day and drain the battery: you can't shut it off with the power button either.
