What could be the cause if the water is not holding to wash

Are you saying the water empties itself out during the wash cycle so it isn't washing the load correctly? If so, then it is just syphoning out.
Your outlet hose must be higher than the pump and be loose in the drain pipe to provide a syphon break. Have a look at the attached link and see how high the outlet drain hose and standpipe are.

Dishwasher won't empty water and stops with 1, 3 & 4 lights flashing.

It could be your drain hoses are blocked . damaged or kinked . Also the strainers may need a clean and when you take the stainless plate out you have easy access to pumps to give them a clean as well
good luck

Machine will not empty water

Remove the bottom strainers plates and make sure that the outlet pipe is not kinked, that there is nothing obstructing the pipe or the pump or selector valve. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine once more before using it again.

My front loading GE washer WSSH300 will not drain.

Don't know if this will help or not, but your owners manual is available at http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/Dispatcher
Water won’t drain
Drain hose is kinked or •
Straighten drain hose and make sure washer is not improperly connected sitting on it. Top of drain outlet should be less than 8 ft. (2.5 m)
above floor. Household drain may • Check household plumbing. You may need to call be clogged a plumber. Plumbing this washer directly to a pipe is hard on the motor. Usually the drain hose elbow is inserted in a stand pipe, meaning the washer would drain water on the floor is the stand pipe is clogged.
Several items can cause the lack of draining.
If you can get to the drain hose, try lowering to a point that it will drain into a bucket. If it drains the system is not clogged. If you advance the timer and the washer drains this maybe the culprit. The motor can overheat and shut off. I would advance the timer to spin and listen for a hum in the motor and then quiet, a sign that the motor has overheated. If the water drains it sounds like the timer is at fault.
I would first make sure the drain hose is properly installed and not kinked somewhere. In earlier GE's the water drain pump could clog, your manual doesn't indicate that as a defect. Regardless timer, motor and pump are in the cycle to empty the washer water.

My machine wont drain or spin. if i maually empty, it will eventually start a wool wash but then says error e20 but filter is clean and no kinks or blockage in drain pipe. should i replace outlet pump?

Do the following.

1. Switch off the machine, unplug or disconnect the mains AC power to the machine and turn off the water supply to the machine.
2. Remove the filter access panel.
3. Remove the filter and make sure that the filter is not blocked and is clean and clear of all debris. Clean as required. Note that depending on the machine type you may get a lot of water coming out of the filter when you remove it if the machine has not drained successfully. Note that if the machine has stopped and not fully drained then you may be able to drain out the excess water by removing or disconnecting the waste hose and laying it on the ground in a tray. It may take a few minutes to empty but it will save a small flood.
4. Proceed by checking the drain hose for proper connection and kinks and make sure that it is not blocked.
5. Also check that the main waste drain pipe, if you use one, is not blocked and clean if required.
6. Reconnect the power and switch the machine on.
If the problem persists then do the following.

7. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power.
8. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure it is operational.
9. Remove the connecting hoses, and expect water to drain out and make sure the pipes are not blocked with debris or any object blockage.
10. Makes sure the pump appears clear and that the impeller looks in good condition.
11. Reconnect the hoses and then reconnect power and switch the machine on.
12. If problem has not been corrected, then remove the pump and check that the drive coupling to the motor is OK and that the motor turns OK. If all is well then replace the pump.

My washing machine is fillig up and washing, but its not emptying the water? i have now un blocked the filter but the problem is still there?

Check is the outlet rubber hose bent too tight. Also sometimes a sock or similar can enter the pipe. Put the outlet hose into the sink and see does it empty. This will indicate which way the blockage is.

Front load waher will not drain

Hi, your washer water pump, could be burnt out, or clogged up, but first check drain hose for kink, remove back of machine, locate water pump, device that your drain hose are connected to, remove all hoses, pump from washer, and clean, sometimes foreign objects get into it, and prevent pump impeller from spinning, also check water pump winding (coil) with ohm tester, place tester lead, one on each terminal on pump (motor) if you hear beep sound, pump motor o/k, if not, pump burnt out, replace it, but first remove pump, and clean it. after cleaning replace pump, try machine. you could put drain hose, close to floor, into buck, and water will empty by gravity, if water is not emptying, that's evidence your water pump is block, small object (handkerchief, coins etc.) gets into them, from time to time, first clean your water pump, `and check for kink, in drain hoses. . always disconnect power, before attempting any repairs. good luck.

Water left in the bottom of dishdraw

Try running a wash with a dishwasher cleaner product.

There may be a slight blockage of the outlet pipe caused by grease. On a kinked pipe this will be enough to stop it emptying properly.

Make sure the outlet pipe has a plastic former to prevent a kink at the highest point, and that the hose isn't flattened or pulled taut.

If after running the cleaner and checking, there is no improvement at all, the pump impeller may be obstructed or a replacement pump needed.

Hope this helps your problem.
