Question about Asko D1876 Dishwasher

Open Question

I have an Asko DW1875 dishwasher (10yrs old) which has just recently started having problems. The initial symptom was that during a washing cycle, unit showed '1' and inside became very hot (melting some plastic cups/plates in unit). On further investigation (with diagnostic mode), the dishwasher is filling and draining with no problem. When circulation pump runs there is barely any water pressure in blades (just dribbles out) and water leaks into undertray via a plastic white tab near front (visible when observing via open toe panel at rear). I presume that when water level dropped below heating element, this caused the overheating inside machine. Eventually, water in tray triggers an F2 error. Is this a simple clogged pipe or an expensive broken part? Trying to decide between service call or machine replacement.

SOURCE: F2 Error Message on my Asko D1776

Clean out the pump...they tend to get clogged with grease...then poor washing up liquid in the strainer and poor a couple of kettles of boiling water in the strainer.

It worked for me on my Whirlpool dishwasher.

Is my asko d1776 repairable. It's currently not going into wash mode. The Blade are not turning and washing.

The motor is not getting switched on at the proper time. The timer / cycle selector is the problem and is easily repairable.

Dishwasher begins to fill then stops with no further progress.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on hoe you`ve described the issue with your Asko, initially it sounds like a faulty inlet/water fill valve...

But, I`d like to clarify the symptom first. Does the unit complete the fill cycle and then do nothing, or it just energizes the fill momentarily then does nothing ?

Also I will ask to verify the model is an Asko 1375 ?

I`l watch for your reply.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Asko 1385: 13 year old dishwasher stops during cycle. If you push on the middle of the door it starts again. It is like the latch is not working properly but by all appearances the latch works fine....

when you latch the door it closes the circuit.
you may have to open the casing of the door to access the switch. it may be stuck or defective.

it is programmed to continue where it left off. It is best to remove chunks of food from plates rather than rely upon the rinse system.

ASKO 1605

Hi Guys
My dishwasher this morning has desided to not work correctly.
Its a ASKO 1302 about 20 years old. It has been a very good machine.
Over the last couple of weeks during the washing cycle, the dishwasher has been making a loader noise than usual.
1. Today, the dishwasher timer, travels all the way through its cycle, but very little washing take place.
2. Soap power is still there, plates not clean!!!!
3. Water is hot
4. At the end of the cycle, there is no water in the dishwasher.
5. I'm thinking the problem could be the pump needs replacing.
What do you think?
