Question about Computers & Internet
Have you tried adding extra RAM?
I've got an Advent 7011 that had 256mg in it. I took it out and replaced it with 1Gb and it works a lot quicker!!

Most slow portable systems (Once software has been eliminated as a cause) run slowly do to problems with cooling the processor. Possible solutions include:
1. Cleaning out the heatsink fins using canned compressed air by repeated blowing in the intake and exhaust vents.
2. Replacement of a failed or failing CPU cooling fan and/or heatsink (Normally I replace both, as some heatsinks use vacuum tubes and the tubes can lose their seal and become ineffective)
3. RARE: Replacement of the processor
4. Just in case you havent checked these SW/Firmware options. In the BIOS make sure the CPU is running in a NORMAL mode (Some have a compatible mode which slows the processor dramatically) Also ensure the power management settings in Windows are set to Maximum Performance/ALWAYS ON
