Hmmm..nope..it's either the video drivers, the video chips or the monitor itself going haywire..

I want to connect a HP w2207 monitor to a HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC. What is the best way to do this?

Your HP w2207 monitor has support for both VGA and DVI inputs. This therefore means that you can connect your HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC via either of these two connectors.

VGA is the blue coloured port on the rear of your monitor.
DVI is the white coloured rectangular port located on the rear of your monitor.

DVI is the better connection of the two as it is a digital connection, so use this one if you can, alternatively you can use the blue coloured VGA cable to connect your monitor to your computer.

It all depends on which output, either DVI or VGA is found on your Computer. Remember VGA is the Blue coloured port and DVI is the blue coloured port.

All the best!

Monitor displaying purplish colour and sometimes blinks

Have you checked the cable that connects from PC to monitor ? If its VGA, it will be a 15 pin cable. please check both ends of the cable if any PIN is broker or bended. or remove it and tight it again. If that does not solve, the monitor will have some hardware issue.

I am using grapic card fx5200, my problem is my screens shows something light blue and yellow colour. i treid installing new drivers, but still the problem isthere

Are the blue and yellow areas clouds or stripes?
Try plugging a friends monitor into your computer. If the problem goes away then you need a new monitor. If the problem stays then you probably have a bad video card.

Why is my monitor screen changing colours. Goes green and blue. Also wavers making it very hard to look at.

Check the cable connections on the back of the computer and make sure none of the pins are bent on the cable , also check the same connection into the monitor and that none of those pins are bent either , it may be as simple as buying a new cable.

I have a HP dv9030ea laptop. It will not boot up. When turned on the laptop screen is just a slightly lit haze however if I plug in an external monitor you see the windows logo and time bar waiting to load...

Your Vga hardware is under trouble - Laptop VGA is builtin with the motherboard so we can say your motherboard has to be replaced - Also note that if any hardware corruption or failure as well as some file corruption windows os automatically reboots. It will reboot until you solve your issue............

IBM Flat Panel Monitor problem - light colored shifting lines (like Bar Codes)

It sounds like it's a problem with the video card, as opposed to a problem with the monitor. If you have another machine, or a laptop, or a friend with a laptop you can find out - just plug it into the other machine, and if the problem goes away, it's the video card. If not, it's the monitor.

While the card may be bad (if it has a dead fan, and has overheated) you will probably need to replace it. But if may just be loose, assuming it is a and on video card and not an onboard one. If it is an onboard video, you can usually disable it and put in an add on video card, which would resolve the issue as well.
