Maytag clothing dryer only hearts on one setting? What's the fix

Can't speak specifically for Maytag but most tumble dryers have two heating elements and the one which is always used for low setting burns our first. If this is the case it will only heat on high setting but the heat will actually only be low because only one element is actually running. Sadly you usually have to replace both elements as a complete unit and it is expensive but you could try ebay. It would cost peanuts for manufacturers to put a duty/standby switch on dryers so that you could select which element is used on low setting and even out the wear on them but guess why they don't! Good luck

I have a Maytag Dependable Care Heavy Duty dryer and it makes an awful noise when it runs, also it isn't heating what should I do?

the knocking is either a belt that is going or one of the wheels is broken(they ride on three or four wheels). and those fixes are fairly inexpensive. but if it is also not heating, that can be inexpensive or not. maybe a new one, or fairly new via craigslist. how old is your dryer. over 10-12 years, maybe replace this one

I have a Maytag MD9206 gas dryer. It runs fine but does not appear to be heating up to dry, heats a little. I cleaned out my vent line and tried, still not heating up like it use to.

if it's heating for the first 15 to 30 minutes and then no heat you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, very easy to fix, remove the two phillips screws that hold the cover in place remove the cover and chnage the coils, put the cover back on,install the screws and you are done.call your parts store, give them the model number and they will sell you the coils.

try flipping you breaker off and on 2 or 3 times (hard and fast) if this don't work check element, timer , thermostats and safety switch on motor 2 heavy red wires (check wiring diagram for pin numbers of safety switch)....if this switch goes bad the motor will still run but it wont let power go to element

My maytag electric dryer will not heat up. it's a de107

Have someone check to be sure you have 240 volts to the plug. The dryer will run on 120 volts but must have 240 volts to the heating unit. If you 240 volts you probably need a heating element or control.

Maytag Atlantis MDE6200AYW will run, but no heat

Check to make sure that you have the proper voltage running to the dryer first. Next you may have a problem with your heating element or with your thermal fuse. Get your dryer opened up so you can see your heating element. Run the dryer and if you see the heating element come on and then turn right back off again then you have a bad thermal fuse. If it doesn't come on at all though then the heating element is bad. Both parts can be picked up at your local appliance repair shop. Just make sure to unplug the dryer before replacing the part. If you have any other questions let me know and let me know if this was helpful for you. Good luck.
