Problem with tumble dryer that has started making loud noise.

Dryers are designed to operate in one direction. Some models turn clockwise and some turn counter-clockwise. Do not run it backwards. The direction of air flow will be impeded or reversed.

Gday mate, geoff here, could be the belt mate, try a bit wd40 / rp7 / crc, on the belt just a quick squirt or rub some soap on the V of the belt ,if noise persists could be the pump itself worn, does it have any lateral or dynamic play when wiggled, while engine off of course, hope this helps , geoff.

How to stop sqeeking from back of dryer

All dryers have to have a way of allowing the tumbler (that's the thing you put the clothes in) to turn freely, not all of them are the same tho, some use bearings, some use slides, others use rollers. Over time these rollers will need to be oiled, the slides will get thin and start metal to metal contact causing a noise, The rear bearings will then start to make their way to china and cause the tumbler to rub into the heating element and OUCH! These things will cause the motor to prematurely DIE! Its best to examine the dryers, rollers, and slides when you first hear the noise, but who does?

Hi, My LG dryer is making a sqeeking noise when turned on. Pretty loud at first and then sound reduces further in the drying cycle. Any suggestions?

If you can open one of the smalle panels to see inside around the drum- check to see if the belt is rubbing and there is black rubber dust or strings around that area. It is probably one of the bearings or felt gaskets or seals that the drum rides on.

Whirlpool dryer making noise and shaking! The bin

The dryer has "rollers" underneath the dryer drum that support and allow the drum to roll smoothly when drying.
I believe one or both of your rollers are worn out. In either case, make sure you replace them all or you will be doing this again in the near future when the other one decides to fail.
Below is a diagram of the rollers ( #44 ) that need to be checked and replaced.
Let me know.'
