Rgb connection stopped working on laptop

Instructions
    • 1 Decide if you want to watch the television on your computer or use the TV as a larger monitor. If you want to view the contents of the TV on your laptop, you need a video card connected to to the computer. These cards can either be inserted through the express PCI card slot on the laptop, or via USB cable. Make sure the video tuner card supports component video.
    • 2 Connect the DVI-to-component cable into the DVI port if you want to use the TV as a large monitor for your laptop. However, if you have a VGA port, plug the VGA-to-component cable into the VGA port.
    • 3 Plug the RGB component cables into the component side of the DVI- or VGA-to-component cable. If you want to watch the TV on your computer, insert the RGB cables into the TV video card.
    • 4 Plug the other end of the RGB component cables into the TV. If you are using the TV as a monitor, plug the cables into the "Component In" ports. However, if you are sending the TV signal to the computer, plug the cables into the "Component Out" port (the other end of the DVI- or VGA-to-component cable that you connected to your computer in Step 2).
    • 5 Power on the TV. If you are using the TV as a computer monitor, press the "Video" button until "Component Video" appears on the screen. If you are watching TV on your computer, launch the television viewing software that came with the TV tuner card. You can now see the contents of the TV on your computer.

I want to connect my computer to my Vizio TV to watch movies via netflix on my TV screen. If HDMI on TV end, what connection do I need to connect to the back of computer?

What "video-inputs" does your TV have:

* composite video (single cable for video, two cables for LEFT/RIGHT audio)
* component video (RED/GREEN/BLUE cables for video, plus RED/WHITE cables for stereo audio)
* DVI or VGA input
* HDMI input
* S-Video (similar to PS/2 keyboard/mouse, in size, and "round" shape)

What outputs does your computer's video-card have:

* composite (post-and-ring)
* S-Video
* DVI
* VGA
* HDMI

Just match them up.

Can i hook up my 32 in emerson to my computer for netflix

Yes you can . Do the instructions below and then just download the Netflix movie like you would if you where to watch it on your PC. After all connections you should be able to watch it on your Tv screen, Enjoy.
Things You'll Need:
VGA to VGA cable

DVI to VGA adapter (as needed)

How to Connect a Computer to an Emerson TV

1
Purchase a VGA cable and a DVI to VGA converter (if needed). The VGA cable is a cable with blue attachments on either end that contains a total of 15 pins (arranged in a 5x3 lineup). You will only need the VGA to DVI adapter if your computer does not have a blue VGA connector on the back.
2
Attach the VGA cable to the VGA port on the back of your computer (going through the DVI to VGA adapter if necessary). When screwing the connector in, alternate between the two sides periodically. Tighten one side of the connector a little, then tighten the other side of the connector to match. This will ensure a tight connection and an optimal picture.
3
Attach the VGA cable to the back of your Emerson television, utilizing the same alternating tightening method that you used to secure the cable to your computer.
4
Use the menu button on the Emerson TV to select a new "source." Choose "VGA" input, then confirm that by pressing the OK button (normally the volume+ button on most televisions). The television should immediately switch to display the computer's output. If it takes you to a blue screen instead, simply restart the computer in order to reset the connection.

How can i watch movies from computer to my tv

You probably need to get a composite video output card for your computer. Actually, I've seen many cards that have both a composite video output AND a DVI output port on 1 card. The DVI output will give you a noticeably sharper picture than composite video, but you need to check if your TV has a DVI or HDMI input. (If it was manufactured after 2000, it probably does.) If you TV was manufactured after 2006, it probably has 1 or more HDMI inputs instead of DVI. You can buy a DVI to HDMI converter cable. That takes care of the picture; to get sound to the TV, you will need to connect separate sound cables to your TV. Your computer needs to have a line-level output jack on it's sound card, and you will need to get an adapter cable (from Radio Shack) to convert the stereo mini-plug to 2 RCA type plugs to plug into your TV. And that should do it!

look on the back or sides of the unit. it should have a hdmi cable hookup, it will look like a monitor input, then you have to make sure you set the tv input to that. then you have to set your laptop to add another monitor to be able to use it.

Cable Required to conect to TV

Your graphic card has two digital TV outputs, so all you need to do is to purchase a DVI cable and connect your PC to your TV (unless your PC is close enough to 'borrow' the cable from your PC, and you're only doing this on a one-time basis. If your TV doesn't have DVI input, you can purchase a DVI > VGA adapter; but most TV's today have DVI input. The next step is to output your sound to your surround sound system, or your TV will be silent. If you don't have any sound output slots left to plug into, you can purchase a 'Y' - adapter for your speaker port, or else if your PC has a second speaker jack on the front, you could just use that since you're only going to watch temporarily anyway.

I've run a cable from my PC to my TV, and used a 'Y' - adapter on my speaker output, leading to my surround sound amplifier, but since it draws my available wattage to my computer speakers on my computer down quite a bit, I simply unplug the cable leading to the surround sound amplifier when I'm not using it.

Hope this will FixYa.
