I'm not sure of the equipment you are refering to. If it is a 4 cylce motor you disconnect the line from the tank, remove the fuel filter, then remove the line from the carburetor. If you have compressed air, blow through the line. Be carefull and point he line in a safe direction, junk will fly out of the line. Clean the fuel tank befor yoou reconnect, then reinstall lines and a new fuel filter.

Starts then dies - plastic carb

Sometimes, there is a waxy substance in the fuel tank and fuel lines that is put there by the manufacturer to prevent deterioration during storage. Machines may sit in a store for months / years before getting sold. I would get some fuel cleaner and flush the tank and fuel lines , then put some fresh fuel in the tank. I had to do this with a brand new whipper snipper. Had the same problem.

Cannot determine from the description of the problem if rewiring power to pump resolved the loss of the electrical power or not. Now when it dies, is there still a loss of electrical power? If there is still a loss of electrical power, ensure that the new wiring is connected to the 'Engine Switched' side of the power system. In other words, only when the engine is turned on, power is applied to the fuel pump. If power is good, mostly likely there is a clog in the fuel system (lines) between the pump and the fuel injectors. It doesn't necessarily mean trash was sucked out of tank, today's ethanol gas can trash a fuel system from the inside out. Being a 1990...vehicles back then were less compatible with ethanol. If pump has power and running, fuel lines may need a good flush (multiple flushes maybe to get it all). When it quits, a simple pressure test at the injectors may help determine if fuel is getting to engine. Keep it simple...walk the dog. Make sure you've got good pressure at pump, follow fuel line hand over hand to the next connection, test pressure again, keep going until you find loss of pressure. Good luck...these type of problems are not fun to troubleshoot, not difficult either, just time consuming.

Check wiring for ground. Ensure battery is fully charged or replace. Replace spark plug. Clean or replace air filter. check oil level, all mowers have a low oil start cutoff. Bad gas? Flush out fuel tank by removing gas line, flush fresh gas thru. Reattach gas line, fill with fresh gas, always use Stabile in gas! Check fuel line for cracks and secure connection to carb. Battery should read 12.8 volts or higher. .

My Craftsman Mowe rmodel# 917.376152 will not hold a prime?

This is a push mower. It does not have a fuel filter, so after about two years, small debris gets into the gas and then gets onto the carburetor. I added a small in-line filter to help. You will need to take the fuel line off and drain the fuel tank to flush then take the float bowl off and try clearing the passages with carburetor cleaner from the top down to flush. Reassemble and off you go.

Engine starts but dies very quickly, especially when choke is moved to "run" position.

sounds like it isn't getting enough fuel. take carby off and clean with carby cleaner and air gun. also flush fuel tank and lines and top up with new fuel.

2001 chev suburban 5.3 gas, engine dies after you start it up. It acts like it is starving on fuel. Could it be fuel pump, fuel filter or what?

try reving it after you start, if it still chokes or sputters your right. if not check your battery guage. i'd try changing your filter first because its the cheapest option. you might want to consider flushing lines too. worse case you'll need a fuel pump sending unit.

When replacing purge bulb on my 32cc craftsman brushwacker I found 3 fuel lines off carb, two were connected to bulb, what's the third? I assume it goes to the other hole on the bottom of my fuel tank but...

the inlet line has the filter on the end in the tank
that goes to the bottom nlet of the carby
the return line goes from under the primer bulb back to the tank
some units run a 3rd line with a filter on the end ( outside of the tank0as that is used to vent the fuel tank as the cap is sealed
the fuel flow is this
through the carby through the pump back to the tank and is only used to prime the float bowl ( needle and seat and diaphragm with fresh fuel and to remove any air in that chamber

Poor starting

since it is a 99 replace the fuel line and flush the bowl out for all the debris in the can (falling leaves, flies, any junk that could fall in the can)stalling then difficulty running is a fuel issue. Replace all the lines, and the filter your problem should go away.

Difficult starting in warm weather

Check the vacuum hose attached to the fuel pressure regulator under the hood next to your intake pull it off and see if any fuel is present, if there is replace may have to tap hose with your finger to get any fuel out or start vehicle run until hot then shut off and recheck if no fuel present in vacuum line let me know and we can try something else.
