It sounds like it does need to be rebuilt / worked on for sure. Are you going to try and do the work yourself or do you want the information for someone that can help you in your area?

Please let me know, I will try to track down a repair / rebuild kit for the unit.

Just reply to my answer here and let me know and I will be glad to help.

There is no real kit for this MPI Monitor from what I am seeing... Other people have just purchased individual parts to service their own from what I can tell.

Here is the manual for the heater, hopefully this will shed some insight:

Here is the number for MPI Monitor so you can locate someone in your area that can help with this as well:

Outside or inside? Outside, blow off any dust. Inside, then you need to disassemble the unit. You need to talk to the people here:

My 441 monitor heater will ignite and then it burns for a little while then goes out and starts flashing.

sounds like your heater may be starving for fuel. check all your rubber hoses for cracks first and then continue troubleshooting from there.

My Monitor 441 won't ignite. I hear ticking (pump running) and verified that the keorsene is going through the solenoid. There is no ignition and then it times out. Can you help?

When you say fuel is going through the solenoid, do you mean you removed the fuel line from the burner and fuel comes out the line when you try to start? If so, you have proved the fuel system from the tank, fuel sump and fuel pump is good. Now, does the igniter get hot? Feel around the lower area where two white wires go into the burner, it should get warm. Remove the window and clean it. You will have to replace the gaskets, as they may break. Stick a paper clip down the fuel nozzle about 3 inches to clear any carbon. Remove the flame sensor and clean it. Same thing with the gasket. Put all back together and try it again. If you see flame and the stove quits you have a problem with the burner.
If there is no flame, you have an iginter problem. This will be very clear when you remove the igniter.
When was the last time the stove was serviced? If it was more than two years ago you need a service.

Good luck,

My monitor heater 441 comes on but after 3 mins.or so the burner lights come on full then starts blinking still no flames no heat.

Not a lot of details to go on. Does the pump make a loud ticking sound? That would mean it isn't getting any fuel to it and you would need to check your filter and the strainer in the fuel sump. You may need to check your igniter also. If it isn't working the heater will not light and kerosene will be building up in the burner everytime you try to light it. If you have a clamp on ammeter you can clamp around 1 of the igniter wires and should get 2 - 4 amps when you turn the heater on. If this doesn't help you can email me a

I have a mac 441 chainsaw i am looking for a manual on it also what is the fuel ratio mixture

McCulloch International (OMs and IPLs)

Your OM (441 in window above)
The manual says 40:1 (4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil).

IMO Once broken in (3 tanks of petrol mix ±) and the carburetor properly set in it will start easier, take longer to carbon foul and pollute less on 50:1 (4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil). Your accuracy of measurement and age of the mix become more of a factor.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

My Monitor 441 will not ignite?

When you try to light the heater do you ever hear a thumping noise? If so, you have a fuel delivery problem. If you never heat the thumping noise you have a fuel pump or air safety switch problem. If it's been snowy you could have a covered flue pipe. This will cause the fuel pump not to come on. If your Monitor is your only source of heat I would be looking for a local repair guy that knows the Monitor heater.

I have a monitor 441 and it will not ignite! I cleaned the strainer, and the igniter is getting warm. But, no flame? help anyone??

Do you hear a thumping noise on the lower right side of the unit just before it starts flashing the light bars? If so you have a fuel supply problem. If there is no thumping noise I would check the flue pipe on the outside to be sure it is clear. Lastly I would remove the copper fuel pipe from the burner and try to start the stove. If fuel comes out the pipe the pump is good. If fuel comes out I would stick a paper clip down the fuel nozzle about 3 inches, it could be blocked with carbon. If no fuel comes out the pipe, you will need to get a manual or a tech to help you out. The choices would now be fuel pump or main board, both of which are pricey so you don't want to make a mistake.

That being said, when was the last time you had the burner serviced? Mat, ring and all the gaskets involved? A Monitor 441 needs to be looked at about every 3 years to be sure you get through the heating season.

Good luck,
