It is a bit confusing. You need to basically turn off the player, they call it "standby" mode. Then you push the menu under system (there are two menu button at lower right hand corner in the remote, use the lower one). Then you use the + & - button to search the "Sensor" mode, then pick the set button. Then use the + & - button to select, there are 3 modes you can select, the last one is off. pick set to select, then push menu button to get off.

I do have a problem that the CD door opens and closes right the way; basically not enough time to put the CD in. I have to use my finger to force to door to be open to put CD in. I use the system mainly to hook up my MP3 player, so it does not that big a deal, However, if anyone has some idea what to do, please let me know.

Go into menu when the stereo is switched off and you get some options to turn this function on or off.

There is a way of switiching off the sensor using the remote - I have it on mine, but I can't work out how to do it again! Anyone remember?!

I have had the same issue and can only put it down to anything in close proximity to the door which causes it to open. I now have it in my office facing away from the wall and not in sight of anything passing it and it has been fine since.

I believe someone put the cd discs in the cartridge upside down. They should be playing side up but the label side was placed up. Now all cd.s jump and skip.

I would recommend buying a CD/DVD cleaning disk and trying to clean the laser head. You should be able to purchase one at Walmart, Target, Radio Shack, etc.

If that doesn't work, sadly, it's probably time to get it professionaly repaired or replaced, if the warranty has expired.

Best of luck!

The tray of my pioneer XC-L77 does not open when i push the open-button. Can somebody tell me how to fix that?

Just found your post - did you get a solution? I have already put mine into Pioneer once before and had it fixed. Now it is gone again. I am assuming it is a belt drive or something like a little fuse but haven't opened it up for a look yet.

You need a umbraco tool for the screws on the sides and a phillips screwdriver for the screw that`s located under the lid just above the display.

Cant play cds 6-25

The short answer is no, but that is not really usefull. If I remember this model correctly, the movement is controlled by a motor/belt assembly. The positioning is read by a photo sensor setup. These mechanisms are known for getting confused. This is not a repair that should be attempted by anyone without prior servicing experience. There are specific dis-assembly/re-assembly sequences to insure proper alignment of the mechanism. Expect a repair cost af around $100 for this with an additional $15 or so if the sensors need to be replaced.

I turn on my cdn36.......

There are switches that detect the door opening and closing, those switches need to be cleaned or replaced. That is really all that will cause this type of problem.

Good luck,
