If you forget your passcode, you can
view the locked TV without entering your
passcode. This is done by pressing the
number 9 and QV buttons on the remote
TV control at the same time, when your
passcode is requested. This process
temporarily unlocks the TV.

When entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode.

You will need to contact a Mitsubishi Authorized repair facility. The entire electronics package must be removed and sent back in to Mitsubishi. The problem is the Formatter circuit board which is no longer available as a replacement part. The repair cost is very expensive and must be quoted by the facility you contact not me. Expect 4-6 weeks turnaround.

Mitsubishi HD Diamond 1080 WS-55907

with the tv on, with the original mits remote, punch in this sequence menu, 8,2,7,0 the should bring up the option menu. the first line should have "initial" highlighted. if it does press "enter" on the remote. in a second or two the tv should switch to ant a probably channel 3. power the tv off then back on. this action puts the tv back to customer defaults, in other words just like it was when it came out of the box. there should be no passwords required.

good luck

Error code 22 on a Mitsubishi WS-55907 55'' HDTV

your set is the V17 series so a code 22 means short protect. Which means the TV has a short circuit condition and is shutting down to prevent further damage. You can get a manual for the V17 sereis at the following link for 15.99 and they will provide free unlimited support to help you with the diagnosis and locating parts. Your set is coverd in the V17 sereis service manual under the mitsubishi section. Here is the link in case youd like the service manual and free support.
