The most likely cause for this is a damaged or defective flexible ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the camera body and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

I have a canon camcorder ES 4800V. The LCD display has becoome partially blurred and am able to shoot using the eye piece/view finder. Does the LCD require to be repaired by an expert or is there some way...

Hi, For any LCD repair I recommend that you have it repaired by an expert because there's so many little parts in the camcorder that are all connected. If you contact Canon in your country they should be able to give you a list of authorized repair shops that you can take the camcorder to for repair.

Disk Error

If the camcorder does not read any disk, and makes noise when reading a disk and does not start reading, then the problem concerns either motor assembly or lens pickup.
If the disk is spinning and lens had been cleaned already, then the lens must be replaced.

Video Recording in Canon DC20

U can use Nero, where you create your own dvd, click on import disc. There will be a item, select it and click import disc. The file will be stored at the default nero folder witch usualy is under "My Document's" an then under "Nero" then "Imported" then a folder wih the date of import will provide you with the videos. This is how i did it until it started to eritate me, because your dvd should not be scrached in any way, the program will terminate if it cant import that piece of video.
I hope this could help you...
