Probably what happened is a virus got in during the download.
The easiest way to fix it is to boot from a virus free system disk and clean your hard drive from a programme like Norton Anti Virus. I don't think Microsoft Essentials will do it, please correct me if I'm wrong.

if that doesn't work (which it probably wont) find restore disks for it and try to boot with the disk in it if you dont have the disks you can order them from hp

Restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer Windows Advanced Options Menu Please select an option: Safe Mode

Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
Debugging Mode Start Windows Normally
Reboot
Return to OS Choices Menu Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice select safe mode with command prompt Click start run type cmd press Enter black screen should open DOS mode this will vary depending on your operating system type in net user username For eg. If you want to change administrator password , type net user Administrator It will prompt you to enter the new password. Enter the new password and the password is changed http://wiki.ljackson.us/Control_Userpasswords2 if this fails you will need to Select safe mode with networking to download you could download all of these or just one save them to a usb drive for later use if one fails to remove the password Windows Password Recovery Basic http://majorgeeks.com/CmosPwd_d239.html A CMOS BIOS password recovery tool Editors note: This tool should only be used by experienced computer users. Please see the enclosed read me if you would like to run it from Windows. Failure to follow instructions (from Windows) will cause your anti-virus to flag this as a virus. http://majorgeeks.com/Dr._Freeware_System_Utilities_d6416.html Dr.Freeware System Utilities which includes data recovery software, data backup, password

Cant view internet everything freezes cant even close it down when it freezes

You will have to start in windows safe mode with networking install malwarebytes at filehippo.com
make sure you update it after installing then run scan after that you will reboot to normal screen and then you will run it again i suggest that you run the quick scan first on both the safe and normal modes if that does not fix you problem then you will have to run the the other scans and they can take a very long time about 90% of the time quick scan solves the problems.

Black screen on my notebook pc

Black screen encountered is due to data corruption. You cant ry booting in other boot options like safe mode by hitting F8 during strt up and select safe mode. If it works on safe mode try doing a system restore to revert it to an earlier date and time when it worked. If Everything else fails, what you need to do is to re-install your Operating System from the recovery disc provided by your manufacturer or reload the factory defaults.

Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop..the screen goes almost black after 5 minutes.

The screen goes black while in normal mode right? So try to boot in safe mode (power on then keep tapping F8 then select safe mode). Check if still happens in safe mode.

If screen does not goes black in safe mode it means there might be a software or driver causes problem when running in normal mode. You can try the following (update your anti virus software then run a full system scan, uninstall the video driver then download and install the latest one, uninstall any previous windows update or you can system restore to the time when it was working fine).

If the screen goes black even in safe mode they try connecting the laptop to an external monitor if still goes black, if yes then absolutely no issues with the LCD panel. You can try (uninstall and reinstall the video driver if still persist then this might end up replacing video card or motherboard, but before doing that update the BIOS first).

If does not goes black in ext monitor then the LCD panel might causes the problem. Reseat the LCD cable or inverter if you can.

All explain it better , my laptop was not working at first so i did a recovery to go back to a time where i left of and everything was fine. after that i recently restarted it the computer again then i...

Sounds like the laptop is trying to display a resolution that is not supported. Try to reboot into safe mode or the BIOS. Try safe mode and if you can get into safe mode make the default screen resolution something like 1024 x 768, then reboot and see if everything comes back.

When I turn it on I get three beeps and nothing else

Hi,

The 3 beeps are correct diagnosis for the screen problems.

reboot, keep tapping F8, till you get to
the start up screen ( black dos screen )

Try the last known good first at the top, let it roll.

If this fails, try safe mode, let it boot up, then try a system restore,
start, all progz, accessories, system tools, system restore, try go back in time.

If you cannot get into the "black" start up screen at all, your video card, has failed.

because you should get minimum of VGA graphics in safe mode.

if you do, then the video driver is corrupted and needs updating

Regards
Richard.

Trying pressing F8 about every 5 seconds from the you turn the computer on any faster and this will give a stuck key error. This should put you in safe mode.
