make sure the tv is hooked up correctly to the signal source, the audio input wires. if all is ok then the tv will need service, most likely the audio amplifier.

i ahve opened the tv and followed the speaker wires. they plug into the motherboard. what does the amplifier look like

At this point its best to let a pro repair it. The amp is a small IC that has 8-12 pins and a heatsink attached to it. I would not recommend trying to service the tv yourself though.

I recently bought an Sny Bravia kld-32w600d smart TV but we don't seem to be able alter the volume either up or down

If the volume works ok on the TGV without remote, replace the remote.
But the volume on the TV does not work, replace TV (you could return in warranty or otherwise)

Radio volume control on 2008 Subaru Tribeca does not work, but remote volume control on steering wheel works. Any suggestions on repairs?

Replace the volume control(rheostat) inside the radio. Only way to fix it. I would personally just live with it until one or the other quits working. Then replace the radio.

The volume button doesn't work on our leapster explorer. It shows that the volume is at the lowest point, but it will not increase so we can hear it. We tried replacing the batteries and that didn't...

I had same problem, just fixed it by a little hack. The volume up switch is broken.
1. Remove accessory door on bottom. 2. Remove all screws on back. 3. Open back cover.
Looking at the exposed board, there are 2 volume switches (back to back). Directly next the switches are four contacts: the upper 2 are for volume down, the lower 2 are for volume up.
4. Place the battery pack on the board and hold it down. 5. Press the power button to turn on the unit. 6. Use a small wire to jump the volume up contacts multiple times to change the volume to maximum (or desired level). 7. (Optional) Remove the volume buttons and throw away the rubber cushions to prevent the volume from changing. 8. Replace everything back in place.

I need a part # for the volume controle on an Aiwa

The "volume control" on your Aiwa is in fact what is called an "encoder". These can fail. They work in concert with the microprocessor to control the electronic volume control IC. Yes this part can be replaced. Try calling Sony with your model number and request the part number for the volume encoder. They should be able to help.

Volume Control not working via remote. Works manually. Is there a motor or belt involved that may require replacement?

Please check volume button works on remote? Take any digital camera / mobile phone camera and see remote front through camera and press volume buttons, if you see IR LED blinking then remote is fine and amp has problem with volume. Let me know exact model of Sony amp to see its schematics.

Volume won't turn down

Try the setup program. When you get to the main setup screen, look for a reset all to standard setting. That may solve the problem. If it doesn't then the sound module may need to be replaced inside the TV.
