Can i restore my ibm x30 back to factory settings

Yes.

One way: take the "System Restore" set of CD-ROMs that were originally shipped with the computer, and boot from the first CD.

If you have lost those CDs, there may be a "recovery partition" on the disk-drive -- when you turn the computer on, look for a "Press F11 to enter Product Recovery" prompt. Press F11.

Contact IBM. For about $60, they will ship a replacement set of those "System Restore" CD-ROMs to you.

You may need the system restore disk to complete that task if the computer has other issues going on.

IBM Thinkpad r51 unable to recover/restore

Hello,

In restoring your computer factory defaults it enables your computer to set its first default settings and eventually all your data stored in your computer will automatically erase. So then you purchase a recovery software and having some problem in installing it. Maybe because not all software will run in different platform or version of operating system. So my advice: Please find some computer shop in your area, a shop with complete equipments in order for you to recover all your data stored in your computer and let them recover it for you. In that way you are assured that they can do it fast and effective.

Thanks

Ibm thinkpad

If you can disconnect it from the internet and go to control panel. From here go to system and maintenance and click on backup and restore. Once here there will be an option to restore files click this and select a date sometime before you had the virus. The system will then proceed to restore all files and settings from that date. This will only work if you have either set a date or have a backup partition on your harddrive. This will not delete any of your personal files as they will be restored on startup.

Startup problem

I would recommend you to boot your system and safe mode and do a system restore...To open your computer and safe mode hit the F8 button on your keyboad when the computer is booting up..click safe mode..and then once you get to safe mode its going to give you an option to restore your computer to another day..after the restore is finish, you should be able to use the computer without any problems...
