Ricoh KR10 Super

Try a camera shop that still repairs obsolete camera's, if you have all the parts it can be fixed or replaced ( top cover ) with a good used one . If your KR10 has a flash socket on the front of the camera buy a flash bar and use that. Be sure the loose wire from the hot shoe is not touching anything.

Timer Recording

This is from the KR10 manual. Hope it helps.
1. Set the clock before setting a timer.
2. Insert a recordable disc with enough space.
Then:
1. Press [TIMER PROG] on the remote
2. Use up/down arrows to select "New Program" then press [ENTER]
3.Use up/down arrows to enter the date, then press right arrow
4. Use the arrow keys to enter the start and end time, then press right arrow key.
5. Use the up/down arrows to select the external input position to which your cable/satellite box is connected, then press [right arrow]
6. Use the up/down arrows to select a recording mode.
7. Press [ENTER] when all items are entered.
8. Press red [I/O ON STANDBY] to set a timer programming.

DO NOT FORGET THIS LAST STEP! The timers will not work if the recorder is not in standby mode.

Will not show picture on disc

Check the RCA wire or fiber optic conection. If you use RCA wire be sure you put Video output from your DVD to input Video of your tv set.

S-video imput not working

I had the same problem. Solved it by going to Set Up, Video Selection, then choosing the S- Video input jack, vs the default. Now if I could just get it to pass video when the unit is off...
