GO TO HP.COM AND DO A SEARCH FOR YOUR AIO INKJET PRINTER AND LOOK FOR THE MANUAL FOR YOUR PRINTER. DIRECTIONS SHOULD BE IN THE MANUAL ON HOW TO INSTALL YOUR SCANNER.

How do i scan a document

First it depends what kind of scanning you are tlking about. oh ok i see the pixma, well somewhere on ur scanner which should be hooked up to the computer and left off until you look on the sides or back side of the snaerr and find the slot where the pixma card slides in and my lexmark printer is the same way then once the card is in, u turn the computer on wait till it fully loads, when it does turn ur scanner on, and if you are scanning the pics and printing them you will be okay and if you are using ur scanner as a way to to scan the pics to facebook youll be just fine. sorry for the mistakes i txts fast. its 3 am in Ct and im tired just thought id help ya out quick be4 bed. good night

Scan doc come up as pic only

you have to choose in the software that yu use for seting the format in what you want it to scan ..if it only scan photo like ..it means that it is set to scan as jpeg ...change them on the format u need..from the options before scanning ..
anyway ..Im not sure it has such a feature...but if you say that it use to do that ..I guess it has to be ...be sure that u used the same software before..and didnt had another software to manage the scans..
another thing to try is to ..insert the document in the scaner ..and try to import from scanner into the word directly ..if it has such a feature ..

Getting to just scan pic into the pc

First of all ensure that you have all of the drivers for both the printer & scanner installed on your PC. You will also need the Epson Scan utility installing. These should all be on the disks that came with the printer or are available to download from Epson:
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=106004&prodoid=63075469&infoType=Downloads&platform=All

To scan a picture into your PC, just click on the Epson scan icon on your desktop (or from within your Start menu's). Place the picture to be scanned face down under the scanner lid and press the scan button. Don't forget to save your picture before exiting the scan utility. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Do you have HP solution center installed on the computer? You need this software on you PC to scan correctly. You can download it from HP here:
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=c5200&submit=Go+%BB

Just pick the exact model you have and correct operating system (Windows XP, Windows 98, Mac OS 10.5) then pick the bundle/full feature driver and install that and your scanner should allow you to scan to you PC. You may find it less of a hassle to scan from the PC by using HP software and selecting scan.
