Satellite radio doesn't work

I bought a E! satellite radio and after passing through security at an airpot the memories got ruined. Can this be repaired, and how?

Where can I send this, and how long does it take to fix?

The problem is that when it went through the Xray it screwed up the computer components which are in the radio. Normally at a service center they can re-program the radio and it should work just fine after that.
Please follow this LINK for all Eton repair centers( non-warranty)
How long it will take I do not know but they stand behind their product.

Hi there!

This device has been damaged by the Airport security system.
Therefore there should be some recompense from them.

You were told you MUST use their system - and did.
This damaged your equipment. Therefore they are at fault for damaging your property.

The only exception is that if you were warned this may be the case, you could have had the opportunity to choose a search rather than Xray.

Contact the Airports complaint department. You will not be the first to suffer such loss, and a limited compensation may be paid out to you.

I hope this will help you in some way.
Richie.

Well its a short wave radio. and it will most like need a repair. But seeing the cost of this unit if its out of the warranty period. The unit will just be easier to replace as its only a 80 dollar unit.

I Have a Grundig 300 Mini handheld radio. I accidently dropped it in the toilet and the water from it got inside it and damaged it. The AM and the display went out but can that be repaired?

sad to say but it probably is not worth what it would cost . try drying it in a bucket of dry rice for a few days . if it does not work after that discard and get a new one

Faint & distorted audio on am sw & air

When I bought mine, I too thought it had no audio, until I opened the user's manual and read about the initial setup. After performing the steps described in the manual the sound came as if by magic.

Wount auto-scan memory

From pages 12-13 of the manual, under the title Listening to what's stored, one can read.
To auto-scan memory press one of the up or down tuning buttons for about 2 seconds and notice the Preset flashes. The radio scans from one memory to another, staying on each memory for about 5 seconds. To stop the scan give the up or down tuning button a quick, short press
The manual is available on the Eton website.

Bought a used iPal and it only came with a european compatible plug. I bought a US converter. Plugged it in and can't make sense of it. The radio doesn't work. When off, there's no green light....

If the radio has a European-style plug, it's probably expecting 220-volt power since that's their standard. If you got a plug adapter but not a voltage converter, the radio won't work because the line voltage is too low.

Check the radio for a ratings label which will tell you for sure what the radio expects. There may be a selector switch on the back which will let the radio work on our line voltage. Otherwise you'll need to purchase a voltage converter to use the radio.

I just got grunding 800 radio,no reception either am,fm ,sw please help me.

This is valid for the Satellit 750 by Eton (current owner of Grundig)
When you use it the first time you go through a system code setting to fix the memory page configuration, the AM gap between stations, the type of batteries and FM frequency range.
If it is used in North Ameraica, you are told not to go through procedure but do it any way.
SYSTEM Code setting
Turn Radio off and press a quick short press on the ENTER Button. -- appears on the upper right corner of the display
1. The first code could be 00, 20,25 or 50, meaning the memory is divided into 10, 20, 25, or 50 pages.
2. The second code fixes the AM frequency gap between stations. Enter 09 for 9kHz or 10 for 10 kHz (in North America)
The 3rd code selects the type of batteries used 29 for D size batteries (1.5V each) or 28 for rechargeable batteries (1.2 V each)

The 4th code concerns the FM frequency range: 76 for a range 76-108 MHz (for Japan) or 87 for a range 87-108 MHz

Read your manual to see how the procedure is performed, or try this one valid for the Satellit 750. It might work. Go through all the procedure and press ENTER to confirm system code.

Grundig Satellit 800 LCD display doesn't work correctly

If the radio uses memory batteries, try changing these with new alkalines. The microprocessor needs this power to drive the display.

Hi there!

This is a problem caused by the Airport's securuty systems.

They have damaged your equipment. If you were not warned of the risk and given a chance to avoid being scanned, then you should be entitled to some compensation for the damage.

Contact the airport customewr services. They should be able to advise you from there.
I hope you get some compensation for it.
