My dlink dir615 is working fine when I was with comcast cable, now i need to reconfigurate with my att. modem wchich require PPPoE connection, how can I do this?

  1. Access your router's admin page by pointing your web browser to http://192.168.0.1
  2. By default, username = admin and password = blank, no password.
  3. Go to the Setup Tab.
  4. Click on the Manual Internet Setup options
  5. Then, under Internet Connection Type, you choose PPPoE from the list.
  6. Enter your user name and password that your new ISP provided you.
  7. You also need to answer if you have a static IP or Dynamic IP. If you are given a static IP by your ISP, then you should also put it there.
  8. Then you're good to go.
Just give it a try and post me feedback if there are.

Steps to Configure Static IP Address for Epson Wireless Printer

The IP address is a specific number allocated to a device, which is connected to your PC network. If you require configuring a static IP address for your Epson printer, it can be possible by using the network configuration menu that you can access via the Internet browser on a connected system. To do that, it's necessary to know your printer's existing IP address. If you have a password protected the device, then you must know the username and password credentials to access your Epson printer network configuration menu. You can call at the Epson Printer tech support phone number and get expert's assistance to do that in a proper way.

Find Epson Printer's IP Address

1.Click the 'Windows Start' button and choose the 'Control Panel' on any system connected to the similar network as your Epson printer.
2.Double-click the 'Printers and Faxes' option and then find the Epson printer that you want to configure a static IP address for in the printer list.
3.Right-click on the Epson printer from the list and choose the 'Properties' option.
4.Click the 'Ports' tab and find the printer to configure a static IP address. Click on the printer to select it.
5.Click on the vertical bar between Description and Port and shift it to the right to expand the Port column. Find the Epson printer's IP address under the 'Port' column, which is a series of numbers divided by, resembles and periods 192.168.1.2.
    Configure Static IP Address

1.Open up your favorite Internet browser on the system connected to the similar network connection as your printer for which you need to set up a static IP address.
2.Input the printer's IP address into your browser address bar. Click the 'Enter' button.
3.Enter your printer login information. If it's not password-protected, enter 'admin' text into the 'Username' box and leave the password field vacant. Click the 'OK' button, followed by the 'IP Configuration' tab to sign into the Epson wireless printer settings page.
4.Find the 'IP Address Configuration' or 'TCP/IP' section and adjust the value from 'Auto' to 'Manual' or 'Static.'
5.Input the static IP address that you need to allocate to the Epson wireless printer into the provided boxes. It forces the network to assign the selected IP address to the Epson printer every time it tries to connect to the computer.
6.Click the 'Save' button to apply the settings and close the browser.
      Additional Tips:

Configuring a static IP address for the Epson wireless printer is not a complicated process if you are a tech-savvy user. However, if you can't set static IP address for your printer even after following these steps, you must avail the help and guidance of technicians that can be possible via the Epson technical support phone number. They will assist you step-by-step to configure IP address of your printer in an efficient manner.

How to set up a static IP address in Windows Vista

Static IP addresses are often used for computers that host specific services, or for computers on small, manually managed networks. To set up a static IPv4 address on a Windows Vista computer, first find an IP address that is not currently in use and is outside the DHCP assignable range (if applicable). Then follow either of the procedures below.

From the taskbar:

1. Right click on the network connection icon in the system notification tray.
2. Select Network and Sharing Center.
3. Under Tasks, select Manage network connections.
4. Right click on the network connection that you want to set up the IP address for (Local Area Connection, Wireless Network Connection, etc.)
5. Select Properties.
6. If the User Account Control window pops up, select Continue.
7. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
8. In the Properties window, click the circle next to Use the following IP address.
9. Enter the IP address that you want to assign to the computer.
10. Enter the subnet mask and default gateway. (For small or home networks, these will typically be 255.255.255.0 and 192.168.1.1, respectively.)
11. Enter the IP address of the DNS server next to Preferred DNS server.
12. If you have an alternate DNS server, enter that IP address as well.
13. Click OK to save the changes.

From the Start menu:

1. Click the Vista orb.
2. Right click on Network.
3. Follow the procedure above from step #3.

Reserving an IP address under DHCP is different from setting up a static IP address. To reserve an IP address, log into your router's configuration utility and look for a heading such as DHCP or IP Address Distribution. You will probably need either the computer's Windows name or its MAC address to reserve an IP address for it.

I am trying to install the WRT160 N router, but can't install it due to having a Static IP. What should I do? The set up CD is giving the message that the the ethernet cord isn't plugged in. All I am doing...

Do not run the set up disc do it manually.
.You said that you have a static IP.
Is the static IP for the internet service provider or it is on the computer.
If you have set up the static IP on the computer then you will need to remove the static IP address from the computer and set it to obtain IP automatically.
If you have a static IP given by the ISP then you can use it to set up on the router.
Check the Ip address of the computer when connected to the router.
I believe the default gateway will be 192.168.1.1.
open the set up page of the router. default password of the router will be admin. Once you open the set up page of the rotuer, you will find the option Internet connection type. set it to STATIC IP address.
then you will get the option to enter the static IP address given by ISP.
Enter the information and Click save settings at the bottom and you will
be able to go online.

I have sony VAIO VGN . I am not able to connect to wireless internet. Only local connection is established but does not connect to Internet. I have tried different locations and IPs.

It is because the DNS address may be set to static. make sure you insert the DNS ip address by right clicking on your network icon and then select status, then properties. select internet protocol then enter the static DNS address. you can obtain it from a machine connected to the network with internet access by typing ipconfig/all in a command prompt. hope this solve your problem.
to enter command prompt click on start then select run, and type cmd and press enter
