My crosley CFUFH17LW0 upright freezer display shows OF and I can't get it to come on

Good Afternoon Sherry, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Crosley freezer is displaying an "OF" and will not come on. An "OF" error code means that the freezer is off. In order to turn the freezer on you need to press the up arrow three times within five seconds. It should start up and you should be able to change the temperature on the front panel. If your freezer does not start you may need to perform a reset on your freezer and you can do that by unplugging the power cord for at least ten minutes. I hope this information is helpful for you. -Matt

I had just submitted a question in regards to my Amana Freezer not keeping the food frozen and the coils freezing up to the point that we have had to defrost the freezer twice in the past 3 months.

Non defrosting units are a thing of the past, almost all fridges made in the last 20 years are self-defrosting. If the coils are freezing up, what kind of ice is it? Clear ice near the bottom indicates your defrost drain is clogged. Snowy, fluffy ice indicates the defrost system is the problem. Make sure the fan in the freezer is blowing freely. Then check the continuity of the defrost heating element. If its OK, the limit switch is bad. If its not replace the defrost heater. Also don't overlook the possibility the door gasket is leaking, allowing warm moist air in that condenses on the coils! To check a gasket, insert a dollar bill between the door and the gasket, close door on bill, pull bill out, if good resistance gasket is good, if little or no resistance gasket is bad or needs adjusting.Do this teas all the way around each door.

Our Crosley CS20 refrigerator/freezer has been dripping water on the floor and the bottom of the freezer has been full of ice. We defrosted the freezer, taking everything out of it, and saw there was ice...

Defrost drain is frozen. Poor hot water around it until it is clear. You will most likely have to take inside back wall of freezer off to access defrost drain. While you have it off, inspect metal pan to be sure holes aren't rusted in it. Some are aluminum, but some are steel.

Defrosted a Crosley freezer, have water draining from door

ITS RARE BUT NOT UNUSUAL,its only condensate from the surrounding room collecting inside a cold door frame,if you dont defrost it at least twice a year, you will loose efficiency.

Have lost instruction booklet and do not know how to defrost.

Easiest solution is to get an ice chest and put all your frozen items in it and turn the unit off or unplug it and leave the door open and let it defrost itself. If you really want to speed it along use a hair dryer to speed up the process. Or put a circulating fan in front of it and put it on high facing the inside of the freezer.

And No I'm not saying anyone is stupid.

Sides of freezer extremely hot

if there is air getting into the freezer because the door is not sealing properly the unit will run because it is sensing it is not cold enough inside. your unit releses the heat from the refrigerant through copper tubing that runs through the cabinet, and thats why it is hot. you need to level the unit make sure the door is sealing on the top bottom and both sides ansd then the freezer will work properly and be able to shut off after it has come down to the proper temp.
