If you open the door all of the way down, you should then be able to unhook it by moving it vertically straight up. Let me know if you have any problems with this. It should be very simple.

I was searching for this same solution. None of the advice helped much, just frustrated me. After breaking a thumb, I can tell you THIS IS THE SOLUTION!!!!!!

FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!! KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM THE HINGES. Those springs are super loaded and will break your thumb. I know from experience. :( I am typing this one handed so this doesn't happen to anyone else!

Before you take the oven door off, if you don't have LOCKS that keep hinges in place to keep keep reading.

    1. While the oven door is still on, look for little holes in the hinges. Get an Allen Key that fits those holes. Slide it in (get the biggest one that will fit) and make sure it won't pop out. AGAIN THOSE SPRINGS HURT LIKE HELL if it hits your thumb!

    2. Lift up (about 45 degree angle) and you're golden.
    ***********************************************************************************
If you're like me and forced the thing off and the hinges closed this will be a process. Again, FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!! KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM THE HINGES they hurt like hell!

    1. You have to figure out a way to safely extend the hinge to figure out what size Allen Key you will need.

    2. Make sure you have them all laid out. Those hinges are slippery and want to go right back in the door.

    3. Once you have found the biggest one that will fit. Somehow (i'll leave this to your imagination) figure out how to extend it and slide the allen key in. **I laid the door on carpet using a huge pair of pliers and massive screw driver to leverage the hinge out. I'm sure there's a better way***

    4. Repeat #3. for the second hinge

    5. Then line up the hinges and it's a cake walk. Once firmly in, you'll know because it will hold the door up, and extend the hinge the rest of the way.

    6. Slide out the allen keys and you're all set.

    You are now a PRO!

I HAD THAT HAPPEN TO ME ON MY OVEN & IT WAS A REAL PAIN TO GET IT BACK ON. I HAD TO USE A LONG SCREW DRIVER TO HOLD THE LATCH WHILE I LINED UP THE DOOR TO PUT BACK ON. LOOKS LIKE FROM THE PICTURE THAT THERE IS A BOLT THAT YOU CAN TAKE OFF THE LATCH, THEN PUT THE OVEN DOOR INTO PLACE THEN PUT THE BOLT BACK ON. IT MAY TAKE 2 PEOPLE TO DO THIS.

It is a two person job unless you want to pull the whole stove out and take the cover off and then remove the springs. Put the door back on and put the springs back and the put the cover back on.

Putting door back on but hinge wont release to put back on

Hi Susan, this is AP! Thank you for your post.

I understand you are having trouble putting the door back on your Frigidaire wall oven. Without knowing exactly how you removed the door I cannot say with certainty how to reattach the door. However, when removing the door did you pull up the lock located on both hinge supports and engage it in the hinge lever hooks? You might have had to apply a little downward pressure on the door to pull the locks fully over the hinge lever hooks. Then grab the door by the sides and pull the bottom of the door up and toward you to disengage the hinge supports. If so, then to reattached the door grab the door by the sides; place the hinge supports in the hinge slots. Open the door to the fully opened position. Disengage the lock from the hinge lever hooks on both sides. Make sure the hinge supports are fully engaged before unlocking the hinge levers. Then close the oven door. There are instructions with images to remove and replace the oven door in the owner's manual. I hope this information proves helpful for you.

How do i put the oven door back on after i removed it to obtain measurements. now i can not get the door back on

I had the same problem today I found that you have to extend the hindge enough to have the lock tabs lock into the door to hold the hindge in the extend mode. If the tabs are not back in the door it will continue to snap back. After you lay the door in place be sure to extend the lock tabs back up into the oven side towards the pins that you hindge lay on. The oven door fell off how do i put it back on?

hi. most oven doors are removable. Since yours is off let me help you put it back on. The hinges will pull out and stay out about 1/3 of the way. Get both hinges situated that way and then carefully slide the door back onto the hinges thru the slots on the bottom of the door. This is easier if you have another person to assist you.

Whirlpool oven door

Push the hinges out till they click once. At this point, get your nails or screws ready. Use a screw driver and wedge the hinges further apart. When you see the hole in the hinge appear, put the nail in it to hold it open. With both done, drop door in place; open door slightly, and remove nails.
