Question about Apple iPod touch

Ipod not recognized by computer or itunes

When I plug my ipod into my computer, it doesn't show up anywhere. Neither in "My Computer" or itunes. I'm running Windows XP Professional. I've tried resetting and forcing it to disk mode, reinstalling itunes, changed USB ports, and all the other possible solutions offered by the help web site. It was suggested that I take it to an Apple store for repair. It still plays music and videos that are downloaded on it, it just won't sync up with itunes.I have more music and videos that I wish to install on it. I brought a brand new ipod touch, plugged it in2 my computer 4 the 1st time, and it came up with USB device not recognised. So i tryed plugging it in2 my laptop andd another computer, but the same thing happend.
Does anyone no how i can fix this?
please!!

Maybe you should try this third ipod manager tool - Daniusoft iPod transfer:

Key-features:
1. Sync videos/songs from computer to iPod without iTunes ;
2. Backup videos/songs off iPod to computer smoothly ;
3. Transfer iPod video/music to iTunes .

I always use it to sync my iPod when my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, it's easy to use and works pretty well.

Ipod wont show on itunes!

hey there, is the USB cable that you are using is recognizing by the computer?

so when you say there is no itunes meaning the computer is also not recognizing that there is no ipod plugged into the computer?

try another usb slot, try another cable and check, if you are getting online try to update the software or firmware of the IPOD

I have an apple Nano(2G). Running software 3.1.1 Itunes is 8.1. When I plug it in yy computer and device manager recognizes the device but itunes does not recognize the IPOD when i plug it in.

Here is a trick I have tried and it worked.
in My Computer Right Click your Ipod device and explore the memory.
in the device software choose a file and right click and open with iTunes.
if your itunes is running it should try and open in itunes.

If it doesn;t work,
Try another USB port preferrably a USB 2.0 port.
Good Luck

Ipod not recognized by computer or itunes

For it to recongnize, maybe try:
1: go to control panel
2:add hardware
3:connect your hardware device and click "yes i have connected the hardware"
4:scroll down and select install new hardware device
5:select install hardware that i manually select from a list
6:scroll down to windows portable devices
7:and choose MTP device
this should make it so your ipod is now recognised by the computer

My Computer and iTunes does not recognize my iPod

I think what needs to happen is you need to restore.

Hold down the sleep and home buttons until you see the apple logo. As soon as that comes up, let go of the sleep button, but keep the home button held down.

A little picture saying you need to plug your iPod in iTunes should appear after a couple seconds. Let go of home and plug your iPod into the computer now.

When iTunes says you need to restore, do so. It will take some time to restore the iPod after you have given iTunes the command to do so.

Get a snack, and a drink... You might be here for a little while.
