SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Canon SD1300 memory card locked

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. But, if you've checked the slide switch, the internal switch in the card slot may be jammed by a grain of sand or gunk. Here are troubleshooting steps for this problem. How to fix memory card locked. Canon Power Shot A490

There is usually a little slot on the memory card itself that says lock next to it, and if the card is locked nothing can be written on it. Simply take the card out and unlock it.

I bought an canon powershot 210 is and put in the memory card called centon 16gb. it worked but then it said memory card error, memory card locked.what can i do to fix this?

Most memory cards have a lock on the actual card. Pull out the memory card, and on the side should be a small rectangular piece of plastic. Slide this down the side of the memory card until it won't go any farther. Put it back in the camera, and you can take pictures.

My memeory card is locked

On the side of the memory card, there is a small slider that locks and protects the memory card from being overwritten. Yours may be in the locked position. Simply pull out your memory card from your camera and unlock your memory card by sliding the tab.
Hope this helps,

When this problem occur you need to set the memory card unlock or not protected. Remove the memory card from camera and you can see a small button in the memory card, so you need to slide that to set the memory card unlock or not protected.
