Hi there.

It is the nature of this beast I think to offer diferent levels of service.

Live 1 2 1 chat with a technician is $19.95
Posting a question on here is actually free - and as there are thousands, it may take a long time to answer (if at all).
Posting a premium question is $9.95, and you will usually recieve a reply within minutes by email.

Now to the microwave....
Check fuse in plug, and that the socket you are using has power.
If you have lights, timer and other functions working - just no heat, I'm 90% certain that the microwave generator (magnatron) has failed.
This is how microwave ovens die unfortunately.

Sometimes you get sparking or smell of burning insulation just before they give up. Sometimes it's a quick zap.

Replacements are available for qualified technicians, but for domestic models it's usually cheaper to buy a replacement oven.

If you do replace it - sell the plate as people are always buying replacements!

Please take a moment to rate as Fixya! if it has clarified your options enabling a satisfactory solution.
Just saying "It's broken - buy a new one" would have been 'Helpful'
Thanks
Richie.

My microwave do not heat the food but it work please answer me

Probably either
- the high voltage capacitor has failed
- the magnetron itself has failed
- the high capacity fuse in line to the above 2 items has blown

Microwaves can be very dangerous if you poke around inside, even when unplugged. Take it to a service tech and get a rough quote, which could approach $150 for parts and labour. It may be cheaper to buy another.

The micowave does not start. The light works and the time does put does not start to heat

Good Afternoon Kathy, thank you for your inquiry! There are a few reasons why a microwave no longer heats:

Power Supply
Plugged into GFI Outlet
Faulty Control Panel
Faulty Magnetron

Let's try resetting the appliance by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the microwave on. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, then once the tech has ruled out a number of possibilities, he or she can pinpoint the exact problem and the necessary part to fix the issue. Since parts can often be quite costly, I would personally recommend reaching out to a qualified tech who can accurately diagnose the issue your unit is experiencing.

DOES NOT HEAT

This is the biggest complaint when it comes to microwave ovens, the magnetron"heats food" the high voltage diode, and the high voltage capacitor are one of the three parts that fail causing no heat.

WILL NOT HEAT FOOD

The biggest problem for a micro wave. But not to worrry it can be a line fuse to the Magnetron. So disconnect the power and check for a large fuse. if open replace. If not check on a high voltage capacitor fitted near to the magnetron, this can be faulty. replace .
there is also a temperature cut off sensor, it can be faulty and cut circuit off
Please take care not to touch any live parts, use a cup of water inside for trials.

Amana microwave appears to be losing power

It's likely the magnetron is failing but you don't touch anything inside till you discharge the energy in the capacitor. Appliance repair isn't the same as electronic repair. The biggest problem there is static electricity and that only damages the electronics. Please consider getting some local tech help. Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

Above Range GE Microwave not heating

Try disconnecting the power line from the microwave ad then reinstalling it after a few minutes.. then try heating up a small cup of water.. allow 1.5 minutes on high power. it should get very hot or boil.. if it doesn't get warm or hot then you may have a bad magnetron ( the tube that produces the microwave energy that causes things to heat up or a bad filament transformer that is required for the magnetron to work.In either case, if it fails to heat anything, I would go back to home depot and insist they send someone out to address the problem. many of their appliances come with a one year warranty but you might want to call the store and ask someone there about normal applaince coverage ( less extended warranty) and what they normally offer. An inquiry costs nothing..

Hope this helps..

Whirlpool(GH7145XF2-0) does not work occasionally

That's how it would sound if you were cooking on a power level less than full power.

If you enter the cooking time and hit Start, it should cook at full power by default and not cycle like you describe.

If you are using some sensor cook setting or automatic type cooking setting, it may cycle like that normally.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

If you don't have your manual, you can download it free here. Check the lower right area to enter your model. number.

Concern about age

I don't know the size of your microwave but if all you use it for is extremely limited to heating or melting, my non-tech solution is to get rid of it and purchase the smallest one they make.
