My camcorder works with power but when i install battery pack it doesnt work,
Have you charged your battery?
Your battery may need to be replaced. Radio Shack carries them for about $20 - $30 a piece depending on how long the life is in them.
I carry a few for my camcorder just for that reason. Then you will have a backup source.
The battery in the memory only keep track of the date and time as well as the camcorder settings.
It has to be the battery contacts if the batteries are fine. You might want to inspect them for buildup.
You could check the back of the batteries too and see if theres carbon buildup or oxidation causing contact with the camcorder to occur. You have to be careful when you clean them as to get one contact at the time or you will cook the battery.
If you have a test meter and the camera is plugged into the electrical outlet you could test the battery contact points to see if you are getting power to them.
I have an identical problem. I purchased new batteries, checked voltage on camera contacts- still the camera wouldn't work on battery. BTW, what are two terminals identified as B and D on the battery? Thanks

its not the batteries i have 3 sets 2 new 1s and orginal 1 ,ive had them checked they work in my friends camcorder ,but not mine i dont have a battery in the memory could that be it
