Question about Rinnai Toyostove Direct Vent Heater: Laser 30 Toyostove Direct Vent Heater Shipping

1 Answer

I need an exploded view of the toyo 30 heater. Some thing is loose in the fan and it makes a racket when running... I suspect a vole (I live in Alaska) tried to build a nest....

Go to www.toyostove.com . Click on owner's manuals and look for the pdf file for the LR-30. The parts break down is on page 7. Part #40 is the blower motor, part# 41 is the fan, and the cover it shows behind the fan doesn't give a number. You should be able to just remove the screws from the back and open the blower.

Steps to fix a EE2 Code on a Toyo 30?

It is a fuel issue, when opening that valve with the fuel strainer out. If your fuel was right it would gush all over. More fuel or lift tank. I hope you have a filter at the tank, if so change the element. (its cheap and good preventive maintance.

Will a monitor exhaust fit on a toyostove?

No. The Monitor has a male fitting going into the stove and a Toyo has a female. The diameters are not the same either. You want a Toyo exhaust pipe for your Toyo. The exhaust is is larger as is the air side. Don't mess around, get the right stuff.

My toyo 73 has started making a loud vibrating noise during startup but gets quiet after running a little while...the fan is not on during start up....

The fan blowing air to the room might not be on but the flue fan would be. I reckon this is where the noise might be from. Fan impellors get coated with dust and this throws the balance out (similar to a car wheel if you loose one of the balance weights). Highly recommend getting it serviced by a good technician. Always good practice every year or so and might fix the problem.

I have a Toyo Lazer 30. Often times it doesn't run for a few days (I also use wood heat). So then when I go to start it up (after a few days) or if the thermostat tells it to start, it might run for a few...

Ticking is a sign the heater is not getting anough fuel to keep running. Check your manual and see if there is a valve inside your heater that controls fuel flow. Make sure it is open all the way. Also check to see if you have the valve on your fuel tank open wide enough to allow fuel to flow like it should. Another tip. Instead of turning your heater off all the way when you are using wood heat, why not just turn the temp on the heater lower then you know your home would get to with wood heat running. Adjust the temp to where you need it when you want the heater to run. (That way your heater stays primed.) The heater doesn't draw that much electricity. ;)

Hope I have helped.

Toyo 73 makes constant noise when running

Could be the blower or fan motor if you haven't had it cleaned in a while.

Toyo stove laser 30

EE22 means that your Toyo failed to ignite 3 times in a row. You need to unplug it for 30 minutes to reset the circuit board. Then plug it back in, push the red reset button on the right hand side in the little hole towards the back and push the Power button. Your Toyo should ignite after that barring some other problem caused by running out of fuel.

I am assuming that you ran out of fuel which caused the EE2 error code originally. Sometimes, when you run out of fuel you can get water, ice, debris in the fuel line causing an obstruction or limited fuel flow. You may also get an air lock. You may need to crack the fuel line at the back of the Toyo where there is 3/4 nut and bleed the line. If you see no fuel or a small quantity of fuel then you will need to thaw and/or purge the fuel line in order to get fuel to your Toyo's fuel pump. There is also a screen in the sump which can get plugged with rust, debris from the bottom of the fuel tank so you may need to clean the screen in order to get fuel to the pump.

Ee 12 code

Hi alaskasteve,

My business is Laser Heating Service in the North Pole/Fairbanks area of Alaska. EE12 is the error code for overheating. Most likely you have a Laser 30 giving you this error code. The most common reason for the EE12 error code is that the Toyo is not getting enough air circulation across the heat exchanger and causing it to overheat. Look at the back of your Toyo where the black frame around the circulating fan and flue pipe is. You will see a screen that slides in a slot at the back of the Toyo. Slide the screen out and clean it. If you have a smoker or the Toyo is in a kitchen area where it collects nicotine or grease then you may need to clean it with hot water, detergent, or 409 Cleaner to get the sticky residue off that the dust fuzz collects on and clog your screen. EE12 can be caused by a couple other issues, but they are more rare. Try this first and let me know if it works! toyotechnician

EE2 code for toyo laser 56

Hi sammysamual,

My business is Laser Heating Service in the North Pole/Fairbanks areas of Alaska. An EE2 error code is usually fuel related. What does your Toyo do before the EE2 code shows up? If you let me know the sequence of events, I can trouble shoot the problem for you. toyotech

Toyo L-30 Start up noise

before the heater starts up, the combustion blower starts to purge the chamber of unburnt gases, then the solenoid pump, pumps fuel onto the burner mat, shortly thereafter the ignitor turns on and ignites the kerosene. what you are hearing is the combustion blower. its a small motor with a rather large vacuum impeller on it. it sounds like a jet engine when it first starts. there are two bearings on this motor shaft. yours evidently are dry - no lubrication. replace the motor or if you have the equipment purchase two sealed ball bearings and press them on the shaft.
