Garmin 1490t favourite destination and actual destination reading showing different --- why?

I assume that since you've successfully updated your GPS previously (from your question), you must have a Garmin account, registered your unit and Garmin Express installed.

With GE installed on your new computer, you should have no difficulty continuing to update your nuvi.

When you reach the first stop on a saved route the satnav should automatically set the next stop as it's destination. If it doesn't it's possible that the spot you saved as your first stop was not exactly right i.e. you didn't drive to where it's marked on the satnav. If this is the case you need to mark the spot by driving to it and pressing the car (which shows your location on the satnav) and this gives you an option to save present location. Save it and use it instead of the one you entered by address. Then when you're setting your route you'll find it in your favourites and add it from there.

To get back to the map go back to the screen which shows WHERE TO and VIEW MAP. Press VIEW MAP and it will bring you back to your map and should continue with your route.

Press "WHERE TO" and select either "address", if you want to enter an address to go to or select "Favourites" if you want to go to somewhere you've stored there. If you want to choose an alternative route just start to drive the preferred route and it will change automatically to select the new direction.

On the main screen, touch "Where to?", then enter the state, city and address at the next screen. Once you've entered the information, touch the address and your unit will probably ask "Navigate to there?" and confirm... and off you go. You can save addresses to your Favorites list as well.

it will be getting the satnavs drivers online for it to work.let it do for a while it should work eventually

***FYI*** you shouldn't have to change it once you program your destination to Canada.....I input my destination and thats it... once there it takes you anywhere you want to go as long as you have the North American NT Maps you should have no problems....I go there regularly with mine

To view the coordinates of a saved location on your nuvi

1. Touch Tools (wrench icon)
2. Touch Settings
3. Touch System
4. Turn ON the GPS Simulator
5. Touch OK
6. Hold Back to return to the main menu
7. Touch Where To?
8. Touch Favorites
9. Select a favorite location
10. Touch Show Map
11. Touch Set Location
12. Hold Back to return to the main menu
13. Touch Tools1
14. Select Where Am I
    

Here you will see the coordinates for the saved location.
1. For nuvi 200 series units that do not have the Where Am I feature, skip the above steps 13-14. The coordinates can be found by pressing the vehicle icon on the View Map page.
