My LG 17LX1R had a almost the same problem. Red standby went to green for 1-2 seconds then back to red standy. Turned out to be bad caps on the power supply board. Yours is definately going to need to be opened up. Not a generic fix. You gotta ask yourself if its worth fiixing a 6-7 year old LCD tv with limited LCD life. New ones can be had for about $130-150.

The menu keeps flashing on and off. I have turn the tv off 4 or 5 times but it still keeps flashing the light on the bottom of tv goes blue then red really fast

How old is your TV? This normally indicates a power problem. It could be any of the following: power supply on the TV, faulty power strip, faulty wall outlet, faulty circuit board inside the TV, faulty power cord/plug, bad airflow/clogged vents restricting air movement into the TV (can cause intermittent power faults),bad sensor inside TV. This is not completely inclusive by any means. It does mean that you should have it looked at. Someone knowledgeable/skilled should be able to determine the cause fairly quickly using a multimeter.

Samsung monitor 2232bw plus backlight fade in black backgrounds scenes

Most common failures in these LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply C242 470uF 10V, C241 & C242 1000uF 16V, C261 & C319 680uF 35V failed as indicated in the attached picture, replace them at once.

If the power supply board is working then it is back light problem, first do a flash light test. If you can see the image in the flash light test, follow the steps how to test back light voltages: https://how-to-repair.org/repair/lg-tv-repair-manual-pdf/lg-led-tv-no-backlights-32ln5300-32ln5310-32ln5700-voltage-test-troub/2pyuXwNkBMA.html and follow the steps how to repair back light LEDs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_poWTEihIJU Fix Led Backlights for TV or Monitor Lg Led Tv No Backlights 32ln5300 32ln5310 32ln5700 Voltage Test Troub Lg... LG 17LX1R flashing red LED - TV won't power up

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

I have an LG 17LX1R flat panel tv and it now has a green strip showing just about from the top to bottom of the screen do you know what the problem could be?

More likely to be the T-CON board which is part of the 17" LCD panel. You need to check if the 5VDC feeding is clean, check the DC filter caps in the power supply and on the main board.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, knowledge of electronics and know safety precaution then please read on:

LG 17LX1R 17 in vertical lines in center and right

Chances are really good that it is the LCD Panel.
If so, cost of repair would exceed cost to buy new.
Give LG a call and see what they may be able to for you. Their Customer Service number is

I hope this helps,

Tv keeps clicking red light blinking but doesnt come on first it was fifteen minutes then thirty now an hour and it i still not on?

the red light blinks due to a problem in the power supply or deflection circuit, this usually happens when one or two components start changing specified value or just entirely go out. Some samsung tvs do have replaceable boards but you still need to pinpoint the problem to a certain circuit board, either deflection or power board. It may be worth it to call a service tech and describe the problem to get a good idea on the repair cost.

Powering up problem with my lg flatron plazma tv

Those lights are a code. I don't know which TV you have, exactly. But the manual will tell you what the light code indicates and what to do about it.
