It's an LG 50" plazma 1080p wall mount. The pictures modes in 16:9 or Just Scan or Determine by all alter the height, but all but 4:3 are too high

LG 50" plasma 1080p wall mount TV. Picture is too tall in all picture modes, even in 16:9, Zooms, Just Scan, or Determine by Program.

It's an LG 50" Plasma wall mount TV, about 6 month's old. I think it's a PS60 or something. Main problem is that the screen is too big in all modes and won't fit. I try 16:9, Set by Program, and Just Scan. Nothing. Can you help?

  • Larry Bielawski Nov 10, 2010

Heads cut off on top, bottom crawls and station IDs all cut in half at bottom. Seems better on width, but the height issue makes it unwatchable. I use an HDMI cable to the Comcast Scientific Data box.

  • Larry Bielawski Nov 10, 2010

But 4:3 looks terrible and only uses part of the screen. When the TV was new, it was perfect size and could be adjusted up or down. Then it went large. I had someone reset it once, which is why I went onto FixYa, thinking I could change a cable, manually set the size or something short of taking a 50" inch plasma for service or replacement. It was only $999 about a year ago on the Internet. Any help?

  • Larry Bielawski Nov 10, 2010

How do I send you a picture of 4:3 ? It's right sized image, and about 1/3 of the screen black on both sides. Can you help or not?

By high, do you mean the top edges are cut off? Sorry about the delayed response. I did not get a mail alert till now. Usually there will be a mail alert for every response.

Looks like 4:3 is ideal for your set. The other aspect ratios are just optional and are to be used only if you need to zoom the image. There are H-post and V-pos settings on your tv, but it will make things more worse. I suggest that you stick to 4:3. 16:9 is only for large screens(60" and above).

Can you get me an image in 4.3 mode so that I can suggest what adjustments you can make?

Autuotune samsung 42 inch plasma

please follow this step:
you have customized the picture and menu settings on your Samsung TV only to find that they keep reverting back to their default positions, this is because your unit is in what is referred to as "Shop Mode." This is the demonstration mode used by electronic retailers to show potential buyers all the features a Samsung television supports. Press the "Info" button on your remote control, and if under the "Picture Mode" heading it reads "Shop Mode," hold down the "Menu" button on the TV itself until the screen reads "Dynamic Mode." This has changed the picture mode to one of the pre-set positions. You may now change any settings you'd like.
God bless you

How do you take black and white pictures?

Press MENU to display the menu, then select the Shooting menu.

The first item should be "Color", which lets you select the color mode. You can choose B&W for black-and-white or Sepia for sepia-toned.

Take a look under "Shooting Menu" in your manual. It's on page 32 in my copy.

I bought a Sony DSC t700 approximately 6 months

If the built-in flash does not function, then the camera may be set to Auto and will only flash when taking pictures in poorly illuminated environments.
To set the camera to the Forced flash setting so it will flash regardless of the surrounding brightness, press the UP ARROW on the control button until a lightning bolt icon appears on the LCD screen.

If the Forced flash setting is already enabled and the flash is still not working, then the issue may be due to another camera setting. Even if the Forced flash setting is enabled, the flash will still not work in the following circumstances:
When shooting MPEG movies
When set to the Twilight mode
If an external flash is connected
If in the Burst or Multi Burst mode

Please touch the MENU option on the screen of the Camera.
Then, select the REC MODE under the MENU.
Then, select NORMAL under the REC MODE.

If you're not able to select the NORMAL under the REC MODE, try Initializing the Camera.

First, please touch the HOME on the LCD screen of the Camera.
Then, select the SETTINGS in the HOME menu.
Then, select the MAIN SETTINGS under the SETTINGS.
Then, select the Initialize under the MAIN SETTINGS.

If the issue still persists after performing the troubleshooting steps provided above service of the Camera is required.

It's required to physically examine the Camera to determine the exact issue at the service center.
