Question about Televison & Video
I have seen the built in DVD players on these units fail all the time. I would believe that is what has happened with yours. If it's out of warranty, which it probably is, then repairing it is not realistic in my opinion. To get it fixed costs as much as a new TV in most cases, but you can just attach a regular DVD player to this TV and be fine. That is definitely what I would recommend, just get a $39 DVD player such as this one, attach it to the inputs on the back of the TV and use that for viewing DVDs. The quality of the picture will actually be improved as well... this is the DVD player I'd recommend, free shipping and no tax:
Sorry I don't have better news there, but I literally see this probably every day, at least 5 days a week I would say. They just use very low end dvd drives in these TVs and they are prone to failing.
Thanks, let me know if you have any questions or concerns, just reply to my answer here and I will be right back with you.

A small belt that connects the motor and the DVD tray is worn out or lost its elasticity, ask your nearest authorized service provider to visit and replace it.
