Engine surgings after running 1hr

You're on the right track its definitely fuel starvation. Try cleaning the fuel tank breather (it's probably in the tank filler cap). This allows air in to the tank as the fuel is used, if it's blocked you get a partial vacuum in the tank and the fuel wont come out.

Got a 99 Nissan Altima 2.4, t-chain broke... replaced head and all t-components... start up surging idle and whistling off idle... engine runs smooth and great power off idle

the surging and whistling sounds like there might be a vacuum leak that is causing this.recheck all vacuum lines and surfaces were this is a gasket that seals a vacuum source.smooth running and good power off idle suggest this leak only affects the motor at a low(idle)rpm.

Carb needs to be cleaned Clamp your fuel line Get some jet spray gumout with the tube take fuel bowl screw out of the center of the bowl this is where your high speed jet is Dont loose the fuel jet on the float it hangs there clean it as well the rest of the carb inside put back together should run better

1998 camry 5sfe engine, surging at idle

Check for air leaks in the vacuum pipes in and around the inlet manifold, they have a habit if going brittle and splitting.
Another possibility is the temp sender , if the ecu thinks the engine is too cold it will compensate causing the engine to " hunt". This can be something as simple as a worn radiator cap seal letting air into the cooling system and tricking the sensor.
Hope this helps, Marshall

Engine speed surges

Surging engines in lawn mowers are usually related to a lean fuel/air mixture. With today's environmental concerns, the carburetors on these engines are set with a very lean mixture (to reduce air pollution). Furthermore, they usually put limiter caps on the carburetors where you cannot easily adjust the mix to get the engine to run better.

If there are adjustment screws on the carburetor, try turning the high speed adjustment screw a bit counter-clockwise (if the limiter cap will allow it). This will enrich the fuel/air mix a bit and might help the engine run a bit better.

Coleman Powermate 3000 surging

Check your air filter to make sure it is clean, especially if the gen. has been run in dirty, dusty conditions. Make sure the gas tank vent is not clogged.

Also, pour some combustion cleaner into the carb. through the air intake to clean the carb. It sounds like it is starving for gas.

Hope this helps.

Olds alero 2.4 idle fuel pressure

most likely idle air control sensor or low engine coolant I know sounds funny but IAC uses coolant to regulate idle. Idle air control valve or throttle body positioning sensor.

Check for cracked vacuum lines, run some fuel cleaner through, faulty Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), clean your throttle plate really good with some carb cleaner.
