SOURCE: Windows XP SP3 will not recognize the printer is connected.

It could be the cable, but most likly it is a damaged driver. try uninstalling the printer and all the drivers then reboot and resinstall it. You could also run "sfc /scannow" to see if any system files are damaged.

It is the site the is alarming to your antivirus but the file is the same on other countries that have the same models to your printer. If Canon in Australia is dangerous why no try to other countries. All the drivers at different countries has the same content.

I just installed windows 7 on my computer- is the Canon Multipass F60 compatible / supported? If so, what's the safest and cheapest way of downloading the software?

The installation software only lists the following OS:
Windows 98/Me/2000/XP
Link here.
If you load the software then update the drivers you may have a working printer with windows 7.

Anytime someone updates their OS early it is a risk.
Many components may not work or crash.

If your the type that likes to keep with the newest technology.
Remember there is a reason geeks call this the bleeding edge.

Good luck!
Hope this helps!

Visit the below link to download the drivers for your L75..

Before You Begin the Installation: white_square.gif Do Not Connect.
Do not connect the USB cable to the port on your computer at this time. When you begin the installation of the software, the installation program will prompt you when it is appropriate to connect the printer to your computer. white_square.gif Cancel new hardware detection.
As a reminder: If your system displays a found new hardware dialog box, click Cancel, and then disconnect the USB cable from the port on your computer. white_square.gif Turn on your computer. Start Windows.
If you have not already done so, turn on your computer and start windows. white_square.gif Close all applications.
If any Windows applications (including any virus checkers) are open, close the applications. With the applications closed, you must ensure that the software installs properly.

If your current printer purchase is replacing a MultiPASS printer, you must remove the MultiPASS software installed on your system before installing the new printer. For instructions on removing the MultiPASS software, see the software user's guide that came with your MultiPASS software.
