I've had some random problems with my new Walkman..sometimes it will freeze up and sometimes I even have to remove the battery. Well anyway, recently I've had another problem. My phone will send text messages but I try to send or recieve pictures and it won't let me. When I recieve pictues it says download failed and the envelope icon is split. I've been trying to send a picture for two days, and I have four bars. Any ideas besides having to get a new phone??

I've just recieved my phone & hv had the same issues, the more I read, the more issues these particular phones r having. My phone is now black!!. To avoid the freezing, to send msgs I set up my NEW MSG as a directional key to get msgs out faster w/o shutting off, but sometimes it still did, jst not as much
I've had that happen a few times with my v620. Moto's software is notoriously buggy but it shouldn't be a huge problem. Sometimes my phone will restart, sometimes I have to remove the battery to restart it but it doesn't happen often.
I've heard that if you turn your phone off for a few minutes every day, it can lessen the times it freezes. I don't know if that's true or not but I do it every night before I put my phone on its charger.
I haven't. I did a fair bit of research before I purchased my v620 and I knew it had somewhat buggy software. I also purchased it used, so I don't think I had a warranty.
If your phone is still under warranty, I would suggest having it sent it to see if they have firmware fixes for some of the issues. It couldn't hurt.
I love my v620 (I had wanted a v6XX since I first saw the v600 in September of 2003) so I'm okay with sometimes having to restart but if I could get that fixed, I totally would.
Call and report the issue to SAMSUNG and if they tell you to call Motorola, call and report it to them, too. By reporting it, you'll help them (I hope) build a firmware fix for the issue. Or, it could just be an issue with your phone and they'll tell you to send it in.
I have had this happen 3 times with my i530, and it required me to remove the battery to get it working again. I have to say with all of my other Moto's this has never happened and am suprised this one does it. It has cost me 2 times missing pages for Investigations which luckily others called me on my other cell to let me know about it.
I would do what MOTOhooligan suggested & call Nextel and Motorola about this, see if they know of a problem with the software & maybe can give you a solution for the problem.
I know next month at our meeting I am going to see the person in charge of our Nextel's to see if he knows anything or will give me a new unit.
This sounds like a hardware issue. If this is the case, there is little to be done, that will not void the warranty. If you have insurance on the phone, you can send it in for a new one, but it will cost you anywhere between 20 and 50 dollars, or even more.
Take the phone back, if its still under its 1 year warranty. I bought mine last wednesday and had problems with it straight away. Its freezes and switches itself off. I went back to the shop and they told me there was a fault twith the phone and they can just give me a new one.
