I answer questions for free.
I specialize in timers and electrical devices.
I hesitate to answer about Malibu power packs because there are no parts or repairs for a power pack, and the owners of this product are angry that such an expensive item is unrepairable and then they downvote a truthful answer that is provided for free.

Here's what I've done for fixya customers.
For hours, I searched Intermatic Timers, Malibulights.com, and the web looking for parts and solutions for the Malibu power pack. There are no parts or solutions.

I purchased a power pack from Home Depot and examined it and then read the manual from head to toe.

The answer is this: if the power pack is not working for any reason and the receptacle has power, then the power pack is busted and you need another one.

However I can save you money on your next power pack, and that may be worth your trouble coming to fixya:
Your next power pack:
1) Match up wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack.
15 each - 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts = 300 watt power pack ... if you buy the 500 watt power pack for 300Watts of bulbs, then it will burn up the bulbs and the power pack.
2) Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and the power pack will burn out
3) When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or the power pack may burn out
4) Use the link below to help plan your low-voltage lighting

Purchase a power pack:
Home depot sells Malibu power packs.
Lowes sells a Low-voltage power pack similar to Malibu

Malibu customers are stingy with their thumbs. 25% of my downvotes come from malibu customers alone. Geeze, you'd expect more gratitude after giving a FREE answer that is totally factual that will save the Malibu consumer money on their next purchase. We'll this is the last malibu customer I will help. Let the questions go unanswered. From now on, these folks can contact Malibulights.com and do the research themselves instead of shorting the person who did the research and answers questions for free.

Good advice, I am sorry you were slighted by ungrateful persons, but this reader appreciates your excellent research and hard work on the subject. It appears many of these Malibu lights have a problem when the trippers do not get triped by the dial, and one has to manually turn the dial to trip. I obtained a photo-sensitive timer cord used for turning on Christmas lights, and plugged that into the wall and the Malibu plug into the timer device. It is rated for 1000 watts and my 300 watt power pack can easily plug in. Now at sunset it turns on and sunrise turns off, saving me from buyer an entire new Malibu power pack. $9.95 for the timer, worth the price, simple solution.

I had the same problem with my 10 year old ML300RTW transformer. The timer motor just gave out. I could not find a replacement for the PB912M10 timer module, so I came up with a cheap solution to avoid spending $95 to $120 on a new transformer. You will need to purchase an Intermatic Time-All plug-in timer model number TN111C70, available at the hardware store or Amazon.com for $7-$10. Timer model PB912M10 does not - 1_11_2012_11_46_28_pm.jpg(Caution, only attempt this if you are comfortable working with electric wiring, electric appliances, and are proficient at soldering) First, open the transformer box. You'll problably need a T20 Torx bit to unscrew the torx srews securing the box cover. Then, remove the bracket holding the PB912M10 timer module. Once the module is clear of the box, you will need to carefully remove the timer motor from the module. There are four brackets holding the motor in place. Gently pry the brackets outward and ease the motor away from the module housing. This is the easy part. Once this is done, carefully open the TN111C70 plug-in timer. (This was the hardest part. You will need to pry the cover open and cut the plastic posts that hold the cover on with a sharp utility knife. Be careful not to damage the motor) Then, snip the wire leads from the motor being sure not to damage the conductor posts. A thin copper lead is attached to these posts. (If they are damaged you might as well throw this motor away too) Now make note of the wire leads coming from the transformer, and mark them indicating which motor post they attach to. Snip the leads and throw away the old motor. Strip the transformer leads about 1/2 inch and secure them to the appropriate motor posts on the new motor in preparation for soldering. Once the leads are securely soldered on, replace the new motor in the timer module and put the transformer back together. Plug it in and test in out. Good luck!

BryTurn, Thanks for your advice. I bought this exact timer off of Amazon for $9.94 with shipping. Followed your steps and now my Malibu Landscape Lighting Timer/Voltage Unit is working fine once again.

There is no replacement module.
But you can plug power pack into ordinary wall timer.

Lost manual for ML300RTW transformer. Does this transformer have an override so I can plug into exterior timer? If so, where is it?

Yes power pack has override, depending on model.
There should be a small knob located above and to left of dial that rotates: Step 8 in Manual says: You can manually operate the lights by turning the Manual ON/OFF Switch counter clockwise.

You can buy cheap plug-in timer, set power pack to override and then plug power pack into cheap timer.
Otherwise there are no repair parts for power packs other than on-off trippers.
Power packs come with 5 year limited warranty, so you are within warranty period. Good job saving the date of purchase, you outshine with that detail.

I do not think that you can purchase a switch, if so the only one that would sell it would be Malibu. I would try on line to them direct as one last try before having to purchase a new timer. The amount of lamps that you have on this clock is not to many, you just need to add the total wattage of all lamps on transformer and as long as you do not exceed the rating (in your case 300 watts) you will be fine.
