Question about Ionic Pro Air Purifiers

Cleaned both the metal blades light because green light went red however, red light was still on so had to clean fuzzy long filter. Red light is still on. What can I do? Still no green light? Have I lost the electro static part of the cleaning i did make sure it was dry putting it back after cleaning. Thanks Sheryl Pitocchi

According to the website for the Ionic Pro Air Purifiers, an extra set of collection blades may be ordered so that you can rotate the wet one with a dry one.

Did you wait 24 hours after cleaning it in warm sudsy water?

Noisy functioning (audible loud buzzing sound) is a sign that your Ionic

Pro Turbo® ionic air purifier is overdue for a complete clean-up of the

collection blades and the internal ionizing wires. The internal ionizing

wires must be kept clean to ensure silent and normal operation.

To Deep Clean:

1. Before beginning, make sure you have read all of the safety

precautions and cleaning instructions located in the "SAFETY


MAINTENANCE" sections of this owner's manual.

2. First, turn OFF and unplug your Ionic Pro Turbo® ionic air purifier.

3. Let it rest for a minute before sliding out the collection blades as

described in the "To Clean the Collection Blades" section of

this manual.

4. Use a cloth and warm, sudsy water to wipe away dirt particles

on the blades' surfaces and edges.

5. Rinse and let the blades dry thoroughly for 24 hours before

re-inserting them into your Ionic Pro Turbo® ionic air purifier.

If desired, you can purchase a second set of collection blades to

use while the original blades are drying to allow for virtually

uninterrupted air purification. (See the "ORDERING EXTRA

COLLECTION BLADES" section of this owner's manual for details.)

Cleaning External Surfaces

Over time, some particles and dust may accumulate on the external

surfaces of your Ionic Pro Turbo® ionic air purifier.

If this happens:

1. Turn off and unplug the unit.

2. Mix one ounce of soap or detergent with five ounces of water

and apply sparingly with a moist sponge to wipe the outer

case surfaces.

3. Do not allow any water to slip into the internal parts of the Ionic

Pro® Turbo ionic air purifier as this could damage its functioning and

may result in injury to you.
4. Allow the unit to dry for at least 24 hours before resuming use.

I have cleaned the machine and the red override light is still on

Are you sure the filter cartridges are in correctly.
Those can be tricky if they are not in exactly the same way. The metal tabs have to line up. Also, isn't there a reset button on those?

Have cleaned unit and will not work. The clean

I just fixed my proffessotional ionic. Im not sure what I did. lol. I took the screws out of the bottom, didnt see anything wrong, tho there is a piece of plastic in there, I dont know what it is. I cleaned the 2 center long metal like things, cleaned the contacts that the metal blades touch. cleaned the wires with alcohol and qtips, put it all back together, and it came on!!!!!!

The red cleaning light is staying on after I have cleaned it several times

I have had to hit the power button several times in a row to get the red cleaning light off till the other light went blue. Thats what I did, Did you just clean the blades? there is another part that cleans the wires too, Its like a plunger.

Sharper Image was giving customers a small rebate for the product since it was proven to be ineffective for cleaning the air by Consumer Reports as well data by the EPA.

This has caused a mess for Sharper Image that they went into bankruptcy as a result of it. The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to be making a decision on ionizers at the end of year since there are hazards in the air from using the devices. It could be that ionizers are no longer sold in the US next year.

The industry should have been regulated and unfortunately the government never did anything about it until Sharper Image and Consumer Reports went to court on it.

After cleaning the unit, blue light turns on momentarily then red cleaning light comes back on. Have cleaned and dried unit including the contacts on the end (cleaned with alcohol). Sounds like a common problem, any solution?

Red light won't go off

To RESET the Electronic Filter Check:
When the filter check light remains on,it is time to check/clean the HEPA-Type
filters and reset the filter check,if needed. With the unit powered on,insert the tip of a ball-point pen or
paperclip into the hole next to the LED filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the
light turns off (Fig 5). Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used),you may need
to check and clean the filters more or less frequently. If the HEPA-Type filters are cleaned before the filter
check light turns on,the filter check should be reset at the same time.
These cleaning intervals are intended as guidelines only. Performance of any filter media is dependent
upon the concentration of contaminates going through the system. High concentrations of contaminates
such as dust,pet dander and smoking will reduce the useful performance of the filter.
NOTE:The HEPA-Type filters are not washable.

Clean Filter Red light

I cleaned the filters as well earlier and the red filter light still blincked to clean the filters. Then I pushed the power button for about 10 seconds continously and then turned it on and the light turned off.

Ionic breeze quadra s 1837

I had a problem with my Ionic Breeze Quadra. Green light would only blink for a second then the red light stayed on. I cleaned unit very good but problem came right back. I blew out the breeze with an air compressor. Not much came out, but now I am green and back in action. I used about 75 psi to clean out.

Ionic pro won't turn on

Solution, perhaps...

All electrical contacts can get a film on them. Try cleaning the contacts (at the bottom of the blade unit; you should see the three with the blades out) with an alcohol swab (make sure the contacts are dry before reassembly in this case) or a pencil eraser (vacuum the debris out before attempting to start it again).

If those contacts don't make up properly, the unit will think it needs cleaning, even though it doesn't.
