Hopefully this will fix you up. Follow exactly.

  1. Turn off the gas at the propane tank
  2. Disconnect the gas line from the tank
  3. Open the grill lid
  4. Turn all control valves to high
  5. Wait for about a minute
  6. Turn all control valves to off
  7. Reconnect the gas line to the tank
  8. SLOWLY turn on the gas at the tank
  9. Light the grill normally
  10. Your grill should now heat normally

Did the trick for me too. Couldn't get past 200 degrees now almost 600 degrees on test! Thanks Tom. BTW, why does this work?

We just used the grill the other night went out to cook tonight will not ignite ....I can hear the gas so that is not it ...any suggestions? I am newby at all this but have been doing fine .....

Are you saying the ignitor won't light the burner(s), but you can hear gas going thru the burners?
If that's the case, try match lighting the burners. That's a good way to find out if you are really getting enough gas for combustion.

If after match lighting it, you find that burner flames remain low, even when they're turned to High. Here's what you need to do:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF.
2. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes.
3. Reconnect the hose to the tank and open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion,
slow).
4. Once the tank valve is fully open, try lighting the burner farthest away from the tank first and turn
it to High. Did the burner light and the flame height looks normal? If so, light the remaining
burner(s) the same way. Do all the flame heights look normal? If so, you solved the problem.

Remember to always turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Pleas let me know and Happy Grilling, Newby!!

My gas grill when turned on will not stay lit sometimes 'When lityou can here air or something blowing and the flames are real low it doesn't even cook its so low I have it on high when we first got it, it...

Susan - Assuming that you have a Propane grill with a grill tank, that has plenty of gas in the tank. Do the following:
  • Turn the Propane tank valve OFF.
  • Disconnect the hose from the tank.
  • Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank valve.
  • Turn the Tank Valve ON, VERY, VERY SLOWLY (slow motion, slow).
  • Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from tank, first.
  • Turn the burner flame to High. Has the flame height returned to normal? If so, light the remaining burner(s) the same way.
  • Have all the burner flames returned to normal? If so, you solved the problem.
  • Always remember, when turning the tank valve ON, do it VERY, VERY Slowly.
If the above did not solve your problem, you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. You can find them at any home center or hardware store that sell grills and accessories. Be sure to take you old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you solve your problem. Please be kind enough, not to forget to rate my response to you. Thanks and Happy Grilling!!

I hardly get any flame to come out of the burner. It is like the regulator isn't letting enough gas through but I have changed regulators and the problem is still occurring. Any suggestions?

You're right. The regulator is not letting enough gas through, but there s a solution. Turn the tank valve OFF and disconnect the grill hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve on VERY, VERY, SLOWLY (slow motion slow). until it is completely open. Turn on and light the burner that's farthest from the tank and turn to the highest setting. Are the flames on that burner the way they should be? If so, continue to light any remaining burners following the same procedure. If all burners now have high flames when set to high, you've solved the problem. If it didn't solve the problem, do the first part of the procedure over again. If that still fails to produce higher flames, you will need to replace the Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can find them at any home improvement or hardware store that sells grills. Take your old one with you for comparison.

Hope this helped and Happy Grilling!

Grill does not get hot enough. Which seem like low gas flow. One burner does not light

Yes, it is probably low gas flow. I assume you feel comfortable that there's a reasonable amount of gas in the tank.

Here's what you need to do. Turn OFF the LP Tank Valve and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes. While you're waiting lift out the tank. Does it feel as heavy as it should? Or does it feel lighter than it should? If it feels lighter, you're either very low or have run out of gas.

In either case, here's what you need to do when you reinstall that tank or a new one. Attach the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve On VERY, VERY SLOWLY ( I'm talking slow motion). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner that's farthest from the tank and turn it to the highest setting. Does the burner flame look correct? If it does, light the next burner and turn it to high and continue doing that until all the burners have been lighted. If the first burner flame doesn't look correct after you lit it. Turn the tank OFF and repeat what you did previously. If it still fails to produce the right flame heights, either the venturri valves on each burner are clogged or the regulator is locked up.. You will have to remove the burners to clean them. If that fails to solve your problem, buy a new grill hose and regulator. You can purchase it at either Lowe's or Home Depot or your local hardware store. Just be sure to take yours with you, so that you can get the right length and brass fitting size matches.

I'm sure this will solve your problem. Please be kind enough to let me know.

I just purchased a brand new tank of propane and i still have the same problem that the propane burns out of all 4 burners but at a really low flame even on high. I can not get the grill to heat up...

Turn the tank off. Disconnect the grill hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the LP tank valve on VERY, VERY SLOWLY until it's fully open. Now, light each burner one at a time and turn it up to the highest setting. If that didn't solve the problem, repeat the previously listed steps.

If after the second attempt the burners still only maintain a low flame, you will need to replace the grill hose/regulator.

Hope this solved your problem and Happy Grilling!

My 1100lp when burners are on low flame is to low and make squeeking noise and if a slight bit of wind will blow out flame. I cleaned burner tubes and replaced regulator with factory parts will heat up on...

turn off the LP Tank, disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. Reconnect the hose and turn the tanl valve on very, very slowly, until it's fully open. Light each burner and turn it to high. Wait for the burners to heat up and turn them down gradually to low. If flame height on low has returned to normal, the problem is solved.

If that didn't solve the problem, the air shutters on each burner may need adjusting. Consult the installation instructions that came with the new burners for the proper setting or consult your Owners Manual.

If it's real real cold outside, it's not unusual for the burners set on low to have a problem. The only solution to that is let the grill preheat well, before turning the burners down. Also, grill with the hood closed on low, if it's a windy day.

Hope this helps you and gets you back to grilling again.

The flame coming out of the burner bars is small

May likely be low on propane or propane tank gate valve not opened far enough. Otherwise sounds like faulty regulator.

Only enough gas flow for 1 of 3 burners

Shut off the tank and remove it from the grill. open all valves. close all valves. Reconnect tank to cooker and SLOWLY open the valve a hair. Then retry.Something in the dang newer safety tanks cause this phenom.
