Hi, follow the instruction below on how to remove the Pedestal on your Kenmore Washer..

Instruction:

  • Unplug the washer power cord from the wall outlet. When removing the pedestal from a washer, turn off the water supply to the hoses.
  • Disconnect the water supply hoses with a pair of pliers if you are working on the washer. Move the washer or dryer away from the wall enough so that you can tip the unit on its back.
  • Open the drawer to the pedestal and remove the contents from the drawer. Grasp the clips on the drawer slides on each side of the drawer and squeeze them toward the drawer. Pull the drawer completely out of the pedestal. Push the pedestal slides back into the pedestal.
  • Place cardboard or a sheet on the floor behind the unit. Ask a friend to help you tilt the unit on its back on top of the cardboard or sheet. Remove the four screws securing the pedestal to the bottom of the washer with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the pedestal away from the washer.
  • Insert the sheet metal screws back into the bottom of the washer where they secured the pedestal. Screw the feet for the unit into the four threaded holes on the bottom corner of the unit.
  • Tilt the unit back into the upright position. Level the unit according to the unit's user manual and reconnect the unit.

Why does it bump and bang out of balance?

I had a front loading washer (not Kenmore) that bumped, banged, and walked all over the floor. Called a service tech. The balancers are made of concrete and one of them was loose. Ended up making a mess as the balancer that was loose finally broke and we had chipped concrete dust everywhere. Not pretty!!! Ours was covered under warranty.

How do I balance a Kenmore HE2 Front Load Washer.

You need to level the washer. They also have things to put under the feet to keep it from moving. Or try to block the feet.

HE4t kenmore washer rubber drum gasket not attatched.

Removed the top and Front reinstalled the counter balance. the rubber gasket has a 1" tear in it which I patched with a rubber tire patch for now. Two of the locking nuts for the leveling of the machine were loose it went out of level causing the machine to rock and probably caused the counter balance to loosen up. My daughters come in from collage and over load it on weekends which adds to the machines demise. All have been warned.

Kenmore Elite Washer

Try this first.

Washer won't drain or spin
Is the drain hose clogged, or the end of the drain hose
more than 96" (2.4
m) above the floor?
Is your voltage low?
Check electrical source or call electrician. Do not use an
extension cord.
Is the "SUD" routine active?
Cycle will complete once extra suds are removed.
Is the load balanced?
A single or bulky item may cause imbalance. Add more items
or redistribute the load.
