I have just purchased the samsung memory cam smx-c20 and the power will not turn on. The memory card and battery are correctly installed. I plugged the camcorder in to charge it over night. When the camcorder is plugged into the wall the power works but as soon as I unplug the camcorder the power turns off and will not turn back on until I plug it in again. Please help me. Lana

You have got a camcorder with faulty batteries Lana. Thats why its turning off immediately as soon as you unplug. DId you buy it new or used? Camcorders do not use the usual batteries they use Li/Ni cells that are pretty expensive. If its new you may wanna call samsung and request for replacement batteries.

Hi Lana!

It sounds to me like the battery is not well seated in it's place, or that it's defective!
As it's a new purchased camera, if the battery is indeed seated well - send it back to have it replaced...

Hope I helped...

Best regards,
Pelu.

My Samsung model SMX-C10RN have a message "CARD LOCKED" What to do? Please

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My camera will not turn at all. I have brand new batteries and changed them with other new batteries (just in case). Before the camera did not turn on at all it showed on the screen "problem with...

Remove the batteries. Remove the memory card.
Install batteries only, paying close attention to inserting correctly. (Possible one was put in wrong.)
Does it start?
Yes - Power off. Insert memory card. Power on. Does it work? Memory card may be defective. Try formatting it.

If cam does not power on, return it under warrenty for replacement or refund. Or warrenty repair..

Moultrie I40 getting error code 480 and wont go into auto mode

ERROR CODE 000480 ?
If this is correct,it relates to: Camera Mod test failed;(4); and under Memory Test, 8= Comms Error.New batteries(good ones) may fix it...
It' not communicating with memory card..ck it's inserted good..press down until it stays down(press again and it will pop up.
Follow instructions on deleting internal memory before installing SDcard.
Also, make sure cam supports kind of card you're using..at 4gb and larger, they become confusing;i.e., 4/8/16mb...older cams won't support some of these. Also there are HC(high capacity); HD(high definition)don't work in these cams..
I posted this for a fix a few days ago, and it turned out to be brand new bad batteries.

Camera wont turn on

  1. Step one: Reset the camera
    1. If you have an optional memory card installed, remove it. (Although removing an optional memory card is not necessary for performing the reset, it eliminates the memory card as a possible cause of the problem.)
    2. Remove all power sources (batteries and AC power) from the camera for at least 5 seconds.
    3. Reinsert the batteries and close the Battery/Memory card door and/or reconnect the HP AC power adapter to the camera.
    4. After verifying that the camera works without an optional memory card, reinsert the card, if you have one.
Try to turn the camera on. If it now works properly, the camera experienced a temporary electrical problem and should now work properly.

Samsung s1030 will not retract lense and bleeps 3 times then no response - batteries are fully charged

Try hard reset . Remove the batteries and insert new batteries . Sometimes this may work

Another chance is that lens is struck

* Carefully inspect around it for dirt or debris

* If you see any dirt or debris around the lens, use canned air to gently blow it away

* After removing dirt and debris, turn the camera on and off

This should work.

Try this alternate solution (got information from HP )

  • Turn off the camera, if possible.
  • If an SD memory card is installed, remove the card.
  • Remove power from the camera as described below:
  1. If you are using only batteries for power, open the battery/memory card door and remove both batteries.
  2. If you are using only the AC power adapter, disconnect it from the camera.
  3. If you are using both batteries and the AC power adapter, remove both batteries and the power adapter.
  • Wait for 15 seconds. Then reinsert the batteries and close the battery/memory card door or reconnect the AC power adapter to the camera. If you are using both batteries and AC power, try each method separately.

  • Turn the camera on and off. If the lens does not retract correctly or the camera does not turn on,

You need to take to service center .

Thanks for using FIxya
