Connecting to a macbook

I am using mac filtering and no other security. I can connect to the internet wirelessly with the laptop with no problem. I can also connect with other devices (other laptop, nintendo, etc.). However, I can't connect with the apple macbook. It asks for a password. I have no security, but I tried the default password for the router as well as the password that I use. Did not work. Can you help?

    Hi

I had done that already. The MacBook thinks there is a password using WEP security. I tried no password as well as the router's password (default and new) with no results. Can you help?

Hi.

This is all what you just need to do. You need to get you mac address first and edit it using a computer that is currently connect to your router as you are using Mac filtering. To check your mac address :

To find the serial number located on the computer If the MacBook is not turned on, you can open the computer's battery bay to find the serial number.
The MacBook serial number and Ethernet ID (also called a MAC address) are located on the bottom of the computer, underneath the battery, in the battery bay.

Windows vista laptop lost connection to the internet

Start off simple. Try a different port on the router. If that doesn't work, try a new cable. If that doesn't work, go to the Device Manager in Windows. (Right-click My Computer, select Manage, go to Device Manager). Does the card look okay? Has it been disabled or need a driver update? If we're still looking at issues then I would take a look at your router security. How many DHCP licences do you allowed to be assigned? Also do you have security in place (WEP/WPA, Mac Filtering, SSID Broadcast)? If you are light on security and only have a few assignable DHCP licences, you may have neighbors leeching your internet access.

To clarify: DHCP assigns a network IP address to each device on its network. Most Linkys routers have a default of 10, you may have reduced this yourself. If you have, you've limited the # of devices allowed on the network. So if you have 3 DHCP licenses available, and a couple neighbors are leeching, your Dell may not get assigned an ip.

If you still need further help, let me know.

My internet works on my main computer but my secound computer which is wirelessly connect does not work.

Have you tried connecting the 2nd computer wihtout any security first to make sure it works like that? Just have it set up for a minute or so to test. Once that's done, try using the more secure WEP or WPA settings. Make sure the MAC Filtering is not on for this as well as it will not let anything work unless the MAC exactly maches. There are lots of nitpicky settings on the security side of the wireless router. Try to follow the directions that came with the router. Also, if the laptop came with software for the wireless connection, try to use that and don't let Windows handle the wireless connection. I've had better results not letting Windows configure it.

Unable to get IP coming back from sleep mode

WEP Security is not strong enough and can be comprise within min! Buy a new print server it will make you sleep better and happier! Setup your IP as Stactic especially on the print server it needs to stay the same Log into the router and change the password, and look at your ip range, if your are using zone alarm or any type of firewall the ip range must match.
