Question about LG Air Conditioners

1 Answer

Brand New, LG 120000 btu Portable air conditioner(Model No LP1200DXR), properly vented out window, proper space around item. Is running but no discernable air coming out of the front air discharge, tho the room does seem to be feeling cooler...what could be the problem?

exactly...The unit turns on andI can hear the compresser kick on "every so often" but no air is blown from the air discharge in the front of the unit.

After calling LG Helpline they are suggesting it is a problem between the compresser and the blower and suggested we return it to Home Depot. *sigh*

It comes with a five year warranty and we could wait for them to send out a repair person but I want this working before I have company in two weeks and they are estimating at least two weeks for a repairman to come out.

As this is the first LG Product I have purchased, I am sure not "feelin the love" Thanks for your help!

I have a LG LP1200DXR and IT doesn't cool and it hasn't asked to drain in alot of months

If it hasnt been drained then there is likely a float switch that is keeping the compressor from running so that it doesnt overflow.

I have the LG LP1200DXR and it is leaking near the wheel and i cant figure out why, when we drain it no water comes out what could the problem be?

All air conditioners collect condensate. It has to drain somewhere. Try connecting tubing to the drain hole or port. In order for air conditioners to remove heat from a space, they also remove humidity, which is water vapor in the air. Like placing a cold beverage in a warm room, it will form condensate (water) around it. The water that you were trying to drain out already leaked out. This is a normal thing for condensation to form when cooling. The condensate needs to be emptied regularly or piped with flexible tubing to a window or plumbing. This is the same as water dripping from your car while the A/C is on.

How do I get my LG 12000 BTU ac/dehumidifier to dehumidify

This is a quote from the manufacturer.

Dry mode is used to remove humidity from the room
without additional cooling. Once the set temperature
is reached, the compressor and circulation fan turns
off and only the exhaust fan will run. Fan speed is
pre-set and cannot be adjusted.

Condensation buildup

Make sure the unit tilts towards the outside. If it's installed level or tilted toward front it will not drain properly.

Danby ALSO does not cool 3 days old

Take it back where you bought it. A 12,000 BTU unit should be more than enough for a 192 square foot room, so there is some problem with the unit.

Why does the water collection tank on my LG LP1200DXR have to be emptied daily?

because the unit is removing a lot of humidity from the air into the form of condensation.
