Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

Hi I have a brand new 320 GB PS3, barely a month old. Worked up until today when all I'm getting is "no signal". I've tried using other HDMI leads (component also) and TV's (mine is a Samsung 1080p) but with no luck. My friends PS3 works fine on my TV. On occasion the picture would disappear and the screen would go black, but return after a few seconds; I thought this was just a problem with the TV. Help?

Try these steps first -

Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later. Release the power button when you hear this second beep

Wait for the PS3 to reset its display.

This will now choose the best setting for your TV and everything should be ok.

If you still get problems, go back to where you purchased it from or contact Sony, as it is under a year old it is still within warranty laws etc

Hope this helps

Did you buy it new from a store, if you did I would recommend that you exchange it, there could be more issue down the road with it.

We are a brand new school and have around 20 cameras. When saving the video clips to any computer, we get the message "Camcorder Import Video: There is not enough room on the disk. Please free up...

that may be the case but you should the cameras set to record to an external tera bit hard drive as the hard drive in the computer will not handle that amount of stored data computers are only an operating system and data storage such as cameras data need a large storage area away from the pc hard drive
call in IT experts to set up the system properly

HDMI not working with PS3

Try to reset the video signal: when you power on the ps3, gently press and hold on to it for a few seconds untill you hear a couple of quick bleeps. release your inger and you should now be able to reset you r ps3 to HDMI signal. Hope this works and makes sense. if that doesn't work then you and i are facing the same problem.
Good luck

PS3 No signal to the TV

I'm having similar problems. I had my PS3 on pause, whent out for a couple hours, came back to find a weird fuzzy screen. My PS3 had froze, so I turned it off. I turned it on a couple minutes later, and the green light came on, however, my controllers would not connect, no image was popping up and it also wouldnt turn off unless I flicked the switch on the back. After contacting Sony, they told me it could be an overheating issue. If it has been less than a year, they will replace it, NOT FIX IT. Which is great and all, but unfortunately I am about to lose the countless hours I've put into assassins creed, skate, call of duty 4 and motorstorm.

HOWEVER. If your PS3 is still "functioning properly" except for no signal, turn the power off on the back, turn it back on, press and hold the power button on the front untill you hear the second beep, let go, give it a couple seconds, turn it off from the back and then back on, hold it till the second beep again. Good luck.

P.S. I recomend getting the extra cooling fan for it, and saving game data on another card (SD) incase crap like this happens.
